How are you doing today? I am all set for my upcoming trip! We are going on a 12 hours road trip followed by four days of Las Vegas, exploring the mighty Grand Canyons and Wonders of Death Valley! Hope our kids will enjoy this tiring, yet adventurous trip. *fingers crossed* Anyway, I am also here to share another gloss shade with you from Urban Decay which is getting my love these days. It is shimmery in finish, but it comes up way intense with its amazing pigmentation on lips. So, let’s read more about Urban Decay Revolution Assassin High-Color Lip Gloss!

My Experience with Urban Decay Assassin Revolution High-Color Lipgloss:

The gloss comes in a transparent barrel tube packaging, like other shades along with a silicon paddle gloss applicator attached to the cap. I adore its simple, yet attractive packaging. Over all, it is quite user friendly & travel friendly.

Coming to the shade, Assassin, is described as a candy apple red with glitter and it is true to its description. It looks intense candy red, not like usual deep red even with those magenta shimmers that simply adds glamour to this otherwise ordinary red gloss. I feel the presence of these magenta silver shimmers makes it beyond gorgeous as they give a perfect, party or festival worthy makeover when adorn on lips. Moreover, it comes up as a wearable, subtle red on my pale skin tone which makes it a one-time try for everyone.

Even I used to stay away from shimmers, but after trying this shade, I feel I need to rethink about shimmery makeup. It can immediately jazz up any ordinary makeup and give a festive mood. I am so looking forward to use this gloss as well during my Vegas trip. It will definitely suit a variety of Indian (medium/light/pale) skin tones, I believe.

The texture of the gloss is like other shades, somewhat thick & slightly sticky to adhere on lips for good number of hours, and also to provide decent hydration. But, I find it less sticky than those creamy shades in this range. I don’t see those prominent cat paws lines on my cheeks whenever I wear this gloss. 😛 It comes up slightly translucent with intense candy red color pay off followed by magenta shimmery and glossy finish on lips. It is lightweight and perfect to be worn during day time. But, I find it slightly tricky for pigmented lips though it will smartly conceal light pigmentation on our lips.

I can see that the gloss tends to settle into my lip lines after a while like other shades though multiple swipes or wearing a lip liner beneath the gloss will work. It does not accentuate the lines though. In fact, it does not sit on dry lip patches and is forgiving up to some extent, still I prefer using these lip products over well scrubbed, moisturized lips. The gloss stays for decent 4-5 hours on my lips, there by fading completely after one heavy meal, leaving no shimmers and just pretty sheen and soft lips.

Over all, I like it more for the pigmentation and shimmer, hence I might get it again as the festive season is around the corner and this is what I’ll need for my festive attires. I will definitely recommend this shade to everyone even though the finish is not as perfect, the shade is really festive. We all need such shimmery, party shades for upcoming festivals and dandiya season!

Pros of Urban Decay Assassin Revolution High-Color Lipgloss:

• Such a beautiful candy red pigmented gloss with magenta shimmers
• It is very lightweight
• The shimmers enhance the beauty of this gloss
• It is pretty hydrating and non-sticky
• I need 1-2 swipes to get intense color payoff with even finish on lips
• It will definitely suit a variety of Indian skin tones including light pigmented and dry lips
• It does not bleed on our lips nor does it accentuate lip lines
• It does not aggravate my normal lips further
• It stays for decent 4-5 hours without leaving or transferring those shimmers onto my skin
• Attractivee, user friendly & travel friendly packaging

Cons of Urban Decay Assassin Revolution High-Color Lipgloss:

• The gloss tends to sink into lip lines with first swipe, hence multiple swipes are recommended or try a lip pencil
• It might be tricky for deeply pigmented lips due to its nearly translucent and slightly tacky finish

Well, other than its tricky finish, sometimes I have no concerns with this shade as I find it perfect for the upcoming festive season. However, I cannot deny the fact that we do get better finish and texture in many low end brands. But then, this shade is rare, plus we all need one such shade to gear up for the festive season with colorful Indian attires. Hence, just for the shade I am willing to get it again.
