This review will be on the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in the shade “Empire.”

My Experience with Urban Decay Empire 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil:

Packaging:  Comes in a simple pencil format which needs to be sharpened.  I normally like retractable pencils more than sharpen-able ones as I find sharpening leads to lot of wastage. This tip of this pencil has never broken off when I have tried to sharpen it which saves me from a lot of frustration.

Texture:  These Urban Decay eyeliners are very creamy and smooth and do not tug on the sensitive eye area at all. This pencil glides on with good pigmentation and can be easily built up in a couple of swipes. When used as an eyeliner on the upper lid, you do have to smudge it quickly as it does set within a minute or so.  I have never faced an issue when using this on the waterline. It doesn’t glide as effortlessly on the waterline as it does on the lid, but it is still easy and I do not face much issue. This shade also makes a good base for powder shadows when applied all over the lid and blended.  These eyeliners have never irritated my eye area, even on the waterline.

Shade:  The shade “Empire” is a deep eggplant purple. It is mostly matte/devoid of shimmer, but it does impart a slight duochrome navy undertone which I like. It gives a nice pop of color without being too bold hence perfect for those who want to try something different from the regular black. Plus the fact that purple looks very pretty with brown/black eyes.

Staying Power:  Staying power of this eyeliner is pretty good. It stays on my eyelids for about 6-7 hours before starting to fade. The staying power on the waterline is not that impressive, at only 4-5 hours.

Overall, I am pretty happy with this liner and I will recommend this. It comes in a beautiful array of around 40 shades which is huge bonus.

In the EOTD, I have used the shade “Empire” as an eyeliner on the eyelid.  Eyeshadows are from Kat Von D Shade + Light Eye Contour Palette.
