Hope all of you are enjoying monsoons and are in pink of your health. We are still recovering from the aftershocks of heat waves with occasional cloudy, gloomy days. Never mind! We have IMBB to give a cool relief to eyes and our senses. Anyway, these days I am seeing myself gravitating towards glosses more than matte lip colors as they tend to provide such a youthful and soft pigmentation with decent wear time. However, I am not into sheer or clear glosses by any chance and love pigmented glosses as they can provide ample hydration as well as a burst of juicy red, pink or plum sheen on lips at the same time. And hence, when I noticed these Urban Decay Revolution Glosses, I was all excited to try them and I did buy few of them. While they all impressed me with their intense color payoff & hydration, they still slightly disappointed me. And my today’s article is all about one such my not-so-favorite neutral pink shade “Failbait” from this collection. So, let’s start with Urban Decay Revolution Failbait High-Color Lip Gloss!
What it is:
A high-coverage, ultra-pigmented lip gloss.
What it does:
Get audacious lip looks and lay down all the color you crave in one swipe of this highly pigmented formula. This range of must-have, cream and sparkle textures comes in show-stopping bold brights, nudes, and deep, dark shades. Urban Decay’s Pigment Infusion System™ gives each a super creamy texture for an irresistible finish. Enriched with Hilurlip™, these glosses define and hydrate lips, making them appear fuller and plumper. Each gloss is encased in a clear barrel to make the shade visible, and features an applicator that provides full coverage in one quick swipe.

My Experience with Urban Decay Failbait Revolution High-Color Lipgloss:
The gloss comes in a transparent plastic tube packaging with a leaf shaped doe foot applicator neatly housed in a cardboard packaging. It has a faint synthetic smell which I dislike and thankfully it subsides in few seconds. Over all, I find it quite user friendly & travel friendly.
The shade “Failbait” is described as a light, neutral pink while it does come up as Barbie pink on my lips with its creamy and glossy texture. As always, I like such milky-barbie pink which might be tricky on our paler/tanned skin, but still we can work out with such shades. However, my real disappointment is the texture of this gloss that seems non-sticky and way light on lips (though) but it comes slightly streaky & sheer on lips, no matter if I swipe it once or multiple times.
I mean it is intensely pigmented as per its claims, but somehow it always comes up slightly uneven on my lips which makes it tricky furthermore. It tends to sink into lip lines after a while which will certainly look gross at times. I feel it is a serious skip for beauties with pigmented lips as it give sheer color payoff with slightly uneven pigmentation on lips which is definitely not expected from any high-color gloss. However, I am happy with its subtle hydration properties as it tends to sit on lips for decent 4-5 hours thereby providing ample moisture and soft, supple lips for good hours.
But I don’t think its a semi-sheer formula is forgiving enough for dry chapped lips as it tends to settle on lips after few minutes. Considering its semi-sheer coverage and streaky uneven finish on lips, I don’t think anyone of us would mind skipping it especially for the price. Though other shades from this range are certainly good. Hence I might not get this particular shade again but I am looking forward to share other price worthy shades from this range soon!
Let’s sum up pros and cons:
Pros of Urban Decay Failbait Revolution High-Color Lipgloss:
• A lightweight, non-sticky and intensely pigmented light Barbie pink lip gloss
• It gives semi-sheer, creamy, glossy finish on lips
• It does provide ample hydration as long as it stays on my lips
• Even I feel soft, supple lips after removing it off
• It stays for decent 4-5 hours with light snacks and tea/coffee break
• It does not cause any irritation or accentuate our dry lips issues
• Quite user friendly and travel friendly
Cons of Urban Decay Failbait Revolution High-Color Lipgloss:
• The shade is tricky for most of Indian skin tones
• The gloss gives slightly uneven, streaky finish on lips which does bother me at times
• It tends to sink into lip lines after a while
• It is certainly not recommended for pigmented lips as well as dry/chapped lips for its sheer, uneven coverage
• It does seem pricey for such average properties
Well, this particular shade failed to impress me. But I have tried its sister shades and they totally live up to the claims. As of now, I feel we can easily let go off this shade and try other shades from this collection as they are way intense and great! I don’t think I will get it again.
