My Experience with Urban Decay Matte Menace Matte Revolution Lipstick:
The matte lipstick comes in a classy, metallic, retractable bullet packaging with their signature ‘Urban Decay’ & ‘UD’ on the bullet and cap respectively. It does not have any significant fragrance like usual Urban Decay lipsticks which might be an added bonus for beauties with sensitive nose. The shade ‘Menace’ is described as matte medium fuchsia pink on the website and it does come up as a bright fuchsia pink on my lips with subtle hints of blue undertone. It instantly enhances my pale skin tone with its blue pink charm on my skin.
I find it perfect for every pale/light/medium Indian skin tone beauty. The texture of these lipsticks is another feather on the hat though it tugs a bit initially. But that’s what a matte lipstick is supposed to do, right? I am impressed to see that it gives a perfect light-weight finish on my lips without sitting in lip lines or accentuating my dry lips. A well scrubbed and moisturizing lip care routine prior using these matte lip colors would really help to get a picture perfect and long lasting finish, I believe.
I just love its semi-opaque finish which does not look cakey on my lips. In fact, it feels and almost looks like second skin on our lips with no bleeding and/or feathering. Moreover, even if it is not hydrating enough for my lips like any matte lip color, it doesn’t cause further dryness as I never used lip balm with this shade. Even the shade is way intense to give medium to nearly full coverage with 1-2 swipes; which also explains its suitability for beauties with pigmented lips. Yes gals, it gives nearly full color payoff or shall I say semi-opaque pigmentation with rich, creamy, matte finish with just 1-2 swipes.
It is advised to use a 24/7 Glide On Lip Pencil prior using these lipsticks to enhance their finish & wear time. I wear them on bare lips with no lip pencil or lip balm and still find them to be equally good. Usually, the shade stays put for good 7-8 hours on my lips with light snacks and heavy meals, after that fading into a subtle pink stain which is easily removable. But I have observed 8+ hours of wear time with slight fading at times, which is quite impressive.
Overall, I find it worth the money for its forgiving texture and semi-matte formula on my dry- normal lips apart from its intense pigmentation and pretty impressive wear time. I will definitely recommend this shade and lipstick range to everyone. Personally, I will always get it again & again.
Let’s sum up pros and cons:
Pros of Urban Decay Matte Menace Matte Revolution Lipstick:
• A lightweight. semi-matte, fuchsia lipstick with subtle hint of blue undertones that instantly brightens up even pale skin tone
• The shade, Menace, enhances my pale skin tone and immediately imparts a bright and fresh glow
• It imparts a full color payoff with just 1-2 swipes
• Does not look cakey or bleed
• The formula and texture is perfect for dry-normal lips as it does not accentuate dryness further
• Does not highlight lip lines like other matte lip colors
• It gives a semi-matte finish on lips without settling into lip lines or dry patches
• It is neither hydrating for lips nor does it accentuate dryness
• It stays put for good 7-8 hours depending upon person to person
• Classy, user friendly and travel friendly packaging
Cons of Urban Decay Matte Menace Matte Revolution Lipstick:
• It might be tricky for very dry, chapped lips
• It does transfers onto cups and cutlery
Well honestly, I don’t feel concerned for these minor cons as we all know matte lipsticks are not meant for hydration or to impart satin finish. Plus, we have lip stains in the market to combat transfer issues. I am pretty happy with this purchase and totally suggest you all to try this shade, Menace. It is beyond gorgeousness which will compliment every skin tone and Indian/western attire. I will definitely get it again.
