I have been dying to review this one since a month but you know the time things take to reach India. Phew… I finally got my Urban Decay Naked Heat Eyeshadow Palette. I am sure you must have seen infinite reviews on this one already and I make no bones in accepting that UD has again hit the bull’s eye in the Naked range. The palette is amazing in every sense. This one is the latest addition to Urban Decay Naked range. Let’s get into the details.

My Experience with Urban Decay Naked Heat Eyeshadow Palette:

Not sure about everyone but packaging plays a very important role for me. I am a total sucker for good packaging and sometimes I buy stuff which just looks cute (yeah 🙁 ). Anyway, coming back to Naked Heat, the packaging is super thoughtful and striking, very apt to the Heat theme. The first layer is a slide on cardboard box with brand name and variant embossed in gold. The shades used here are warm toned reds and oranges, etc. Once you slide out the tray, you can see the palette and its container. Remove the palette and there is an image of burnt matchsticks (sticking to the theme so much!) and on the flip side is burnt roses, after all, what does the heat do?? It burns, isn’t it!

The actual palette is plastic in nature, unlike the other ones which are metallic I believe. The base color of the palette is beige-orange shade and the cover has layers, the top one has the name written on it and the bottom one has stripes with holographic colors peeking. The palette has a double-sided brush with very soft bristles and a large sized mirror (always appreciated).

The 12 shades are an absolute delight to look at! As I said, they very strictly stuck to the ‘Heat’ theme and nowhere in the process have they forgotten this. The shadows are creamy and some are too buttery, the color payoff is good and pigmentation cannot be questioned. The texture varies from matte to shimmer. Shimmers are finely milled and not at all glittery or chunky and mattes are actually creamy-mattes, so the fall out is minimal. They do need a primer to stay on the lids for good 8 hours, else they will wear off easily. One thing that kind of disappointed me is that some shades are very similar, though they appear to be different in the pots.

Let’s have a look at them one-by-one.

1) Ember: Though placed in the last, this isn’t the darkest of the lot. It is a metallic brown shade with copper undertones
2) Ashes: This is a dark matte brown (almost black) for outer corners
3) En Fuego: Again, a dark brown but with brick undertones. Definitely less dark than 2)
4) Cayenne: A chocolate brown matte; good for giving depth to eyes
5) Scorched: Now, this is a tricky color as it looks rose gold on the pan but appears warmer or more reddish on the skin. It’s very buttery and shimmery in nature
6) Dirty Talk: This is a perfect party orangey bronze color with shimmers. This and 5) can immediately spark up any eye look.

7) He Devil: If you see, this is very similar to 4) but less chocolaty and more reddish. Again a metallic finish
8) Lumbre: A very beautiful shade; looks totally different on skin. A light orange with golden undertone. Such an apt color for Indian weddings
9) Low Blow: A muddy color with matte finish
10) Sauced: A transition shade in dusty pink shade with matte finish
11) Chaser: A very light beige pink matte shadow. I don’t think this has much of a use other than diluting other shades or transitions, may be
12) Ounce: Last and obviously, as expected, is the highlight color. This one is mostly matte with very light simmer particles

Pros of Urban Decay Naked Heat Eyeshadow Palette:

• Beautiful and thoughtful packaging
• Very different range of shades to have together in a palette
• Pigmented
• Creamy and buttery
• Minimal fall out, almost none
• Some colors in metallic finish are stunning
• Comes along with a brush (good for travel)

Would I Recommend Urban Decay Naked Heat Eyeshadow Palette?
I do not have any palette with this range of warm colors. There is nothing bad here in terms of quality, shades, pigmentation, anything. I do not have any reason not to recommend this. This one will be one of my priced possessions forever!
