Urban Decay Naked3 Eyeshadow Palette Review, Swatches, Eye Makeup Looks

Urban Decay Naked Palette

Hi Everyone, πŸ™‚

I had no plans of picking up the Urban Decay Naked3 Eyeshadow Palette. But when I saw it at Sephora Malaysia, I couldn’t not resist myself from picking up this gorgeous rose gold goodness. I already have a original Naked Palette. I totally enjoy using that but since the time I have got the Naked 3 Palette, I can’t stop using this one. πŸ˜€

Naked Palette 3

Urban Decay Naked Palette review

The palette comes with a double sided brush as seen HERE. The brush you see in the pics is from the original naked palette. There are 4 travel eyeshadow bases / primer potionsΒ – eden, original, sin and anti ageing provided with the palette.

Color Descriptions :

  • Strange (pale neutral pink matte-satin) / an absolutely gorgeous color for inner corner of eyes or an eyebrow highlighter. Being matte makes it very appropriate for day time wear. Not chalky at all.
  • Dust (pale metallic pink shimmer w/iridescent micro-glitter) / an iridescent pale pink that looks great as a wash of color on the lids.
  • Burnout (light pinky-peach satin) / a satiny beige pink
  • Limit (light dusty rose matte) / looove this one for everyday was of color all over the lid.
  • Buzz (metallic rose shimmer w/silver micro-glitter) / almost like a loose mauve pink shimmer.
  • Trick (light metallic pinky-copper shimmer w/tonal micro-sparkle) / a beautiful rose gold shimmer. My fav one for evening.
  • Nooner (medium pinky-brown matte) / a great crease shade.
  • Liar (medium metallic mauve shimmer) / a beautiful iridescent taupe mauve
  • Factory (pinky-brown satin) / a se*y metallic rose gold brown
  • Mugshot (metallic taupe shimmer w/slight pink shift) / this reminds me of MAC Satin Β Taupe
  • Darkside (deep taupe-mauve satin)
  • Blackheart (smoky black matte w/rosy red micro-sparkle)/ Love this one. a blackish mauve with rose gold sparkles.

Here are some eye makeup look I created using the palette. Some every day and some smokey. But smokey ones are definitely my favourite, if I may say so myself. πŸ˜€Naked palette 3 eye makeup looks

Overall,

I had this perception that the colors in the Naked3 Eyeshadow Palette would not work for me. I am not a huge pink fan on the lids. But surprisingly, the shades in the palette are not the saccharine pink kinds. There is a hint of mauve in all the shades. The glittery shades I found were like loose pigments and best used with a wet brush for that intense look. The dark shades are to die for.I haven’t done so much smokey eye makeup for days together in a long time. This palette really made me fell in love with the pretty colors and gave me break from my neutral browns. I would still call this a neutral palette only but the colors are sooo pretty and understated. One must definitely give it a try. Oh the quality of every single eyeshadow is beyond beautiful. They are buttery smooth, pigmented, stay on all day long and blend seamlessly. The compact packaging is easier to carry around. It’s huge leap from the bulky cardboard(y) packaging for the UD Original palette. Β This is more like those tin pencil boxes.

Beautiful quality. Excellent colors. Gorgeous Packaging. Worth Every Penny.

I LOVE IT! :))

lovely EOTD rati ma’am and loved that fuchsia outfit post, couldn’t comment it on then due to exams. anyways, i have been waiting for this review impatiently because i invest in high end makeup if it has been reviewed on IMBB because i have to pay hefty shipping then, so no risks!! i was never interested in naked 1 and naked 2 because i am not much into neutrals but the international blogs tempted me to these rosy shades. thanks a ton for the review…. *clap* *announce*

Hey rati!! Beautiful pics,,would you suggest naked 2 or naked 3 if i can pick only 1??

Reply

Rati April 23, 2014 at 8:09 am

if you like neutral shades pick naked 2. But if you like to experiment with the rose gold tones pick 3. totally a personal preference. πŸ™‚

Devie April 23, 2014 at 6:07 am

This is gorgeous! OK you’ve sold this to me … I, too, was hesitant because of the pink … but it looks lovely on your lids. I have Naked2 and I love it!!! I guess this is next in line…btw…the formula is so amazing that even someone like me, who pretty much sucks at eye makeup, can come up with a decent two-toned look πŸ˜›

Rati April 23, 2014 at 8:11 am

you know I was as skeptical as you were when I bought this. I dont like pinky pinky colors on eyes but these colors are different. All the mauve tones , those goldeny warm shimmers and darker shades… it’s amazing how they have struck a balance here. And I agree about the formula. It is too goodd!!! :))

Ida April 23, 2014 at 11:12 am

The looks you’ve created with it are so pretty. I really wanted this palette, it’s so beautiful. But now I think, as a whole, it might be too cool-toned for me.

Rati, Absolutely fab *whistle* ! I have been looking to purchase one of these naked palettes, now I know my deal.. I am not too much into neutrals, as they don’t show up much because of my warm olive skin. But No.3 seem to have nailed it for Indian skins I believe. *jai ho*
