Hey folks! Today I’m going to be talking about a beautiful, sleek lipgloss from UD. I love UD and got their Nak*d on the Run palette for my birthday (which I’m reviewing soon). This is part of that set. You have lots of basic n*de shades in this collection and this is one of them.
My Experience with Urban Decay Naked Ultra Nourishing Lipgloss Sesso:
UD is known for their classic packaging and this one is no exception. Sleek, golden and smooth, with a little transparent cap on the bottom showing the shade. The tube is engraved with the word Nak*d and the top has the pretty UD logo on the cap. Overall, great packaging and I love pulling this out in public and reapplying. It feels so classy.
The texture of the lipgloss is everything you ever wanted a lipgloss to feel. There is absolutely no stickiness, not even when you purse your lips together. The closest I’ve ever felt to this is with the NYX butter gloss, but this is even thinner and wears very comfortably on the lips. The gloss has a weird smell and taste, somewhat minty chemically. It is slightly stronger than I’d like, but I don’t really mind.
This particular colour is described as a rose with pink shimmer. It comes off as a rosy nude in the swatch with very toned down shimmer. On my lips it comes off as completely transparent. I don’t see any shimmer whatsoever. This lasts about 3-4 hours on me without meals and snacking.
I see myself using this mostly over the top of my lipstick to make it glossy. It looks really classy and adds that movie star sheen to my lips. I love layering this on and it never feels uncomfortable and gloopy. I also love just wearing it over n*de lip liner when I do a heavy smokey eye.
There are a lot of different shades in this range. But I feel that if you have one, you have them all. None of them have great coverage. I’ve swatched them on my arms and lips. They may look pigmented on the arm swatch, but all of them come off as almost n*de. Well, considering that they are in the “Nak*d” range, I don’t think pigmentation was their top priority. That being said, this texture of lip gloss is one of the best I’ve ever used.
Pros of Urban Decay Naked Ultra Nourishing Lipgloss Sesso:
- Amazing texture.
- Not sticky at all.
- Layers well over lipstick and lip liners.
- Lasts 3-4 hours.
- Lovely packaging.
- Not overpowering shimmer, it is very subtle.
Cons of Urban Decay Naked Ultra Nourishing Lipgloss Sesso:
- Shades are all pretty much the same.
- Not pigmented at all.
Would I repurchase Urban Decay Naked Ultra Nourishing Lipgloss Sesso?
I think I might, once I run out. Unless I find something else that’s as good. I mean, you always need a n*de gloss right?
Would I recommend Urban Decay Naked Ultra Nourishing Lipgloss Sesso?
Yes, definitely. If a transparent gloss is all you need. If you are looking for pigmented ones, no.
Overall, a really nice product. If you need just one gloss to make all your lipsticks glossy, this should be the one. The texture is to die for. I’ve tried many, many drugstore glosses, but this one takes gloss to a whole new level. Yes the shade range is limited and you can just pick this one and you’re sorted. Plus, showing off this sexy tube in public will totally justify those $20 you spend. This will be your go-to topping gloss.
