Claims :  When UD junkies cried out for a palette of matte neutrals, Naked Basics delivered—and left them begging for MORE shades. (And we couldn’t deny them!) When UD junkies cried out for a palette of matte neutrals, Naked Basics delivered—and left them begging for MORE shades. (And we couldn’t deny them!)

Cooler in tone than the original, Naked2 Basics complements Naked2 perfectly. We loaded this indispensable palette with six TAUPE-hued matte neutrals, including five never-before-seen shades. These shadows are neutral enough for anyone, from cool skin tones to olive complexions to darker skin.

So versatile you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it, Naked2 Basics is the kind of palette you’ll reach for again and again.

Color Description : Skimp (pale nude satin), Stark (nude-pink matte), Frisk (warm gray matte), Cover (muted red-brown matte), Primal (muted brown matte) and Undone (deep, smoky brown matte).

My Experience with Urban Decay Naked2 Palette :

I am HUGE fan of Urban Decay eyeshadow palettes. I have two of them and I use them a lot. Seriously, they are irreplaceable in my collection. The main reason I bought the Urban Decay Naked2 Basics was the size of it and the fact that I am a sucker for neutral eyeshadows. Since I travel a lot, I thought this would always come in handy. But honestly, I am not too impressed with this one.

It is a gorgeous little palette of 6 neutral eyeshadows. The lightest eyeshadow, skimp, has a stain finish and the rest of the shadows have a matte finish.

Color descriptions :

Skimp : a satin finish pale peachy beige color. It looks lovely as an inner corner shade and as an highlighter. I like that it is so matte so it does not look chalky upon application and gives a lovely highlight without being too stark. I also like that it is peach toned. It blends well with warm Indian skin tones.

Stark : a matte beige peach shade. Does not show on my skintone at all. Not even as a transition color. I keep applying it and it does nothing.

Frisk : a cool toned light brown color. Again, does not show on my skintone at all. Rather looks a bit muddy and makes my eyes look tired if worn on its own.

Cover : a muted reddish brown shade. This shows up a bit on my skin tone but it’s a transition shade for me.

Primal : a muted taupe brown. So this shows up a little on my skin tone.  I love this color for blending out my kohl or just wearing a wash of it all over my lid. Can also be used as a transition color. Totally love this one.

Undone : One of my fav shades from the palette. A gorrrgeous taupe grey color. Love it for soft smokey eye makeup since it’s neither black nor brown. It’s like that perfect taupe that blends in beautifully with the rest of the neutral eyeshdows that I use.

So basically 3 out of 6 eyeshadows don’t really show up on my eyes. I keep using them one on top of the other or as an overall shade and I am left wondering where did the color disappear. 😛 to make things a bit clear that these are reallllly gorgeous and pigmented eyeshadows. It’s just that they are not going well with my warm skin tone. For someone who is fair and likes her mattes, I think it’s a great eyeshadow. It’s so easy to use. Like a total no brainer and a little handy thing that can take your from day to night easily. Perfect work partner. There is a bit of fall out in all the colors but nothing too nasty or uncontrollable. The staying power is incredible. There is no fading or creasing of the eyeshadows all day long. I absolutely adore the packaging. It’s so sleek and crisp.

So overall, even though it may not be my most fav palette from Urban Decay I still use it for the 3 gorgeous shades in the palette. If you have very fair skin, I think you should totally give this a shot. The eyeshadows are buttery smooth and are a pleasure to work with.

For my skin tone rating : 3/5

Overall Palette rating : 5/5

Eye makeup : Basically have used every single color in the crease starting for left to right and blended with a fluffy brush. 😛 Finished off with a liquid liner, kohl and mascara.
