Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick – 69 Review
Hello Ladies,

Trust you are doing well! I’m just recovering from viral – kids caught it and mumma had to catch it from them – considering all the slurpy kisses which go around in the house with little kids! Well, I am not complaining! Today, I bring to you another raved product from the beauty world. I picked two shades – Anarchy (reviewed earlier by Sweta) and 69. I will be reviewing 69 for you today. Let’s find out how it fared on my beauty meter.
Product Details:
Creamy, bad ass luxury. Our Pigment Infusion System™ delivers insane color payoff with creamy shine, Maxi-Lip™ plumps and nourishing oils leave lips cushiony soft. Get the color you crave. Addictive to apply (and even more addictive to wear), this creamy formula glides on without dragging or skipping, hugs every curve and gives you a BIG laydown of color. And with shades that range from gorgeous nudes to bold brights, there’s something for everyone. Our Pigment Infusion System™ gives Revolution Lipstick its super creamy texture, insane pigmentation, superior color dispersion and extended wear. Maxi-Lip™ defines and hydrates lips while making them look plumper and fuller. And a nourishing blend of jojoba oil, avocado oil, cocoa butter and shea butter keeps lips super moisturized and cushiony soft. Our luxe, custom-designed gunmetal tube (lined in dark purple) features organically shaped facets that practically beg to be touched. You’ll want to keep pulling it out of your bag—whether it’s time to reapply or not. It is formulated without parabens, sulfates, phthalates. The ingredient for each colour is slightly different and is mentioned on the box.

Price: $22 in US / INR 1500 (from an International website) for 2.8 gm.
Packaging:
The bullet is gunmetal grey and has decent weight, which makes it feel fairly luxe. The lipstick has a normal twist up mechanism. It comes packaged in the deep purple cardboard box through which runs a strip of colour (ingredient list) coordinated to the colour of the lipstick – so easy to identify the shade as long as you keep them in the box. Also, the strip provides a tamper-proof seal to the box. However, it’s equally easy to open the box from the bottom end (through which the seal does not run) without tampering the seal on top! So….
My Experience with Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick:
Color: 69 (talk about weird names!!) is a full-bodied red with a hint of pink in it which makes it more appealing to me. Its really bold and bright – not neon though. The colour isn’t for the faint hearted. I believe it would look fab on any skin tone, as long as you are comfortable carrying off such a bold shade.
Texture: In texture, they remind me of the Estee Lauder Envy Sculpting lipsticks – lightweight, creamy and glides smoothly on the lips; however, it’s not too creamy that it would glide out of control – like YSL Voluptes sometimes tend to do! The texture of Envy is a tad bit more smoother than this – like they say “unnis-bees ka pharak!” The colour hugs the lips, without accentuating fine lines. The lipstick was very comfortable on the lips and lightly hydrating while worn.
Pigmentation: The lipstick has has full-on super pigmentation, 100% colour deposit in one swipe. LOVE LOVE LOVE!! Estee Lauder Envy lipsticks are so great in pigmentation, this was a tad bit better. Fantastic for people with pigmented lips – like me!
The only grouse I have with the UD is that instead of the traditional pointed shape of the bullet, UD went with the round shape. With this intense a pigmentation and this loud a colour, you cannot afford to go wrong in application and the round tip isn’t ideal for it. I would have preferred the traditional bullet for this!
Lasting Power: This lipstick lasts good 7 + hours, which is also because the shade is so bold. The intensity of the colour may go down by 5 hours, but the colour is still there at 7 hour mark. It pretty much stays put even with meals and drinks and fades evenly. There was no dry patch or clinging feeling throughout the wear time. Post fading, it still leaves a stain behind.
To sum this up for you:
Pros of Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick:
- A cool-toned bold red.
- Sculpts the lips with insane pigmentation.
- Does not settle into the fine lines of the lips.
- Color lasts for 7 hours plus.
- Feels hydrating on the lips.
- The colour hugs the lips nicely – no feathering or bleeding.
- Hides lip pigmentation well.
- Luxe and classy feel of the case!
Cons of Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick:
- Ease of availability across India.
- Not easy to apply from the tube – would have preferred a traditional pointed bullet.
IMBB Rating: 4/5
I tried this and Anarchy and found both to be top notch. This is my new love. Will I pick more shades? Honestly, I would love to. However, considering that I am feeling extremely conscious about my unused stash lately – I may not be running to get more of these just yet. But these are gorgeous, if you want to try something exceptional, don’t give this a miss and there is a wide selection of colours to chose from. For people who want to try this, but wonder where to get it from, I picked these from an International website.
