Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick – Bang Review

Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick – Bang Review

Hello lovely ladies,

Long time!! I have been so caught up with things at home and my kids that I had zero time for anything else. Now I am back – refreshed and raring to go….so you will see a lot of lipstick reviews for sure! Hope you guys missed me a little.  Today, I have for you another beauty for Urban Decay. Their Revolution lipsticks have literally created a Revolution with the quality, pigmentation and comfortable wear. The colour I picked this time is “Bang.” So did I get bang for my buck….let’s find out:

Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick

Product Description:

Creamy, badass luxury. Our Pigment Infusion System™ delivers insane color payoff with creamy shine, Maxi-Lip™ plumps and nourishing oils leave lips cushiony soft. Get the color you crave. Addictive to apply (and even more addictive to wear), this creamy formula glides on without dragging or skipping, hugs every curve and gives you a BIG laydown of color. And with shades that range from gorgeous nudes to bold brights, there’s something for everyone.  Our Pigment Infusion System™ gives Revolution Lipstick its super creamy texture, insane pigmentation, superior color dispersion and extended wear. Maxi-Lip™ defines and hydrates lips while making them look plumper and fuller and a nourishing blend of jojoba oil, avocado oil, cocoa butter and shea butter keeps lips super moisturized and cushiony soft.  Our luxe, custom-designed gunmetal tube (lined in dark purple) features organically shaped facets that practically beg to be touched. You’ll want to keep pulling it out of your bag—whether it’s time to reapply or not.  It is formulated without parabens, sulfates, phthalates.  The ingredient for each colour is slightly different and mentioned on the box.

Packaging:

The bullet is gunmetal grey and has decent weight, which makes it feel fairly luxe. The lipstick has a normal twist-up mechanism. The bullet is round instead of the traditional shape.  It comes packaged in the deep purple cardboard box through which runs a strip of colour (ingredient list) co-ordinated to the colour of the lipstick, so easy to identify the shade as long as you keep them in the box. Also, the strip provides a tamper-proof seal to the box. However, it’s equally easy to open the box from the bottom end (through which the seal does not run) without tampering the seal on top!

My Experience with Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick – Bang:

Color:  Bang is described by UD as a “bright orange red.” It leans towards more orange on me.  It’s quite bright, though not really like MAC Morange, more like Lady Danger.  I feel the colour would look more red on fairer complexions and more orange on darker skin tones.

Texture:  As I have mentioned in previous reviews, the texture is lightweight, creamy and glides smoothly on the lips.  This is by far one of my most favorite textures currently. The colour hugs the lips without accentuating fine lines.  The lipstick was very comfortable on the lips and lightly hydrating while worn. The finish is satin.

Pigmentation:  The lipstick has full-on super pigmentation, 100% colour deposit in one swipe. This is a dream come true for people like me who love bold shades! However, it’s a bit painful applying the lipstick with the flat round surface of the bullet.  I wish it had the traditional pointed shape.

Lasting Power:  The lipstick lasts good 6-6.5 hours+ post which there is a distinct stain. The intensity of the colour does go down with wear, however, it pretty much stays put through meals and drinks.

To sum this up for you:

Pros of Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick – Bang:

  • A bold orange-red!
  • Sculpts the lips with insane pigmentation.
  • Does not settle into the fine lines of the lips.
  • Color lasts for 7 hours plus.
  • Feels hydrating.
  • The colour hugs the lips nicely – no feathering or bleeding.
  • Hides lip pigmentation well.
  • Luxe and classy feel of the case!
  • Free from fragrance.
  • Free from parabens.

Cons of Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick – Bang:

  • Ease of availability across India.
  • Not easy to apply from the tube – would have preferred a traditional pointed bullet.

IMBB Rating: 4.8/5 buynowpink

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Revolution lipsticks, I have tried 4 shades and the quality is absolutely fantastic. It is my favorite lip product apart from the Estee Lauder Envy and Tom Ford Lipstick collection! For ladies who love their lipsticks, you MUST try these, can’t recommend them enough. And they do have a decent variety of shades from bold to subtle. Though you will NOT see me reviewing the subtle one – you know I love my lip colours to stand out, must be because I’m really bad at eye makeup. So, I prefer the lip colour to grab attention instead.
