How was your Valentine’s Day? I enjoyed the day to the fullest by surprising hubby with his dream smart watch while he made me feel special by preparing yummy breakfast and lunch taking care of Aadya throughout day! It was not a dream date with roses or red velvet cake treats from him nor did I expect it to be because this time I was keen to surprise him. Let’s be honest. Guys also dream of sports, gym, gadgets and gatherings and not just roses and hugs! The three words like “let’s go shopping”, “no cooking today”, “gal’s night out” or “go to sleep” work like magic for moms :P. Accepting ground reality (sometimes) make things easier you see! Anyway, let’s get back to my review for today. This was my impulse purchase.

My Experience with Urban Decay Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color – Adrenaline:

The glossy lip color comes in chubby sharpenable pencil packaging with fitted cap. It does not have any significant fragrance while the pencil color coordinates with respective shade of gloss. Overall I like the sleek, attractive and travel friendly pencil packaging though I personally favor retractable liners or pencils.

The shade Adrenaline is described as sparkling fuchsia shade which is a bright shimmery fuchsia pink for my skin tone. It is definitely as per its name as I feel Adrenaline rush down my nerves whenever I wear it on my lips. It instantly brightens up my pale skin tone. Considering it has shimmers, I often wear it for evenings or night outs as it jazzes up the look though it looks equally graceful and not overtly glittery when worn during daytime.

I am also impressed to see that it gives nearly medium coverage with 1-2 swipes with full shimmery yet glossy pigmented color pay off, which makes it a keeper for beauties with mild-medium pigmented lips as well. However, it maintains subtle translucency in the finish even after multiple swipes which is good for me as it does not look or feel heavy on lips with wearable shimmery sheen.

The texture of the lip color is quite creamy and slippery which effortlessly slips on my normal dry lips without sitting on dry patches. It is good to see that the pencil holds its pointed shape till 4-5 or more usages unlike those creamy pencils which need frequent sharpening. The formula might be tricky for dry parched lips due to presence of shimmers but I see it behaves well on mild dry patchy lips.

I see that it does not look frosty or icy on lips; it gives perfect glossy creamy fuchsia color on lips with a sparkling shine. I never feel the need of using lip liner or lip balm with this pencil as it sits comfortably on my lips with no tugging and/or sitting in lip lines even with presence of shimmers. Moreover, it does not look patchy or streaky unlike other shimmery glosses. It keeps lips quite soft as long as it stays on lips.

It is also impressive to note that the color stays for good 5-6 hours on lips with no fading or transferring though it fades to uneven patches after one heavy meal which can be taken care of. Honestly I was never into shimmers but after trying few shimmery products and now this Adrenaline shade I feel we all need one such product in our kit for special evenings and moments.

• It maintains subtle translucency in finish with intense color pay off and high glossy shine at the same time.
• The gloss gives even shimmery finish with no frosty finish at all.
• It won’t sit on dry patches or lip lines.
• It does not bleed or transfer onto skin that often.
• It stays for good 5-6 hours before fading onto uneven patches.
• Quite a price worthy, travel friendly product.

Would I Recommend Urban Decay Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color – Adrenaline?
Well in spite of my liking for retractable products, I love it for intense color and staying power. Even its creamy tip is good enough to give 4-5 usages before needing sharpening. I would definitely like to get it again as it seems perfect for parties, night outs which I am enjoying currently. I would say try it and let it initiate adrenaline rush inside you and others who meet you!
