Price:
$17 for 3.25 gm.

Packaging:
Urban Decay Vice lipstick’s packaging is quite eye-catching, though a lot less heavy than the earlier “Revolution” line. The lipsticks do look quite pretty with a gunmetal cap and tube, set on a golden base. regular twist-up mechanism. The cap closes firmly with a resounding distinct click, fairly simplistic and yet distinctive. The packaging looks like metal but the weight does not add up. However, this does make it more travel friendly though.

My Experience with Urban Decay Vice Lipstick Big Bang:

Color: The shade “Big Bang” has been described as a “bright pink sparkle” color. It is a medium, extremely metallic, fuchsia pink lipstick with light pink and cool fuchsia micro glitter. Up close, the glitter looks quite chunky and is quite high shine. This isn’t for the faint hearted! The micro glitter is so dense, that the base colour sometimes isn’t too clearly visible. This would look stunning on deeper skin tones. Not that anyone else can’t carry it as long as they are comfortable with a cool fuchsia lipstick with fuchsia micro glitter!!

Texture:  The texture of the lipstick is quite strangely quite decent. In days gone by, a glitter lipstick would feel like sandpaper on your lips. Over a period of time, there have been lipsticks which are smooth and you do not feel the shimmer or the micro-glitter. However, considering how chunky the micro glitter in this one is, I quite expected myself to be able to feel a lot of texture but it was hardly there.

There is a bit of challenge with the micro-glitter though because it is so heavy, some of it will migrate from the lips to the chin and upper lip area. This can look a tad bit unsightly as time goes by because you have to remember, it is fuchsia and cool pink in colour!! The lipstick did not settle into the fine lines, especially the glitter. It actually wore well and was comfortable on the lips. There were no drying patches on my lips contributed by this.

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick Big Bang shape of the bullet

Pigmentation:  The pigmentation on this good, but you can barely see the base colour as the micro-glitter is so dense, bright, and bling-y, but it does coat the lips well and covers lip pigmentation.

Lasting Power: It isn’t the longest-wearing lipstick – gave about 4.5 hours of wear. During the wear, it didn’t get patchy, though it did get lighter colour, which I presume is because of the micro-glitter disappearing over time with wear and tear…so to speak. The issue post the 4.5 hours was how to effectively clear all glitter left onto the lips and some on the chin!

Pros of Urban Decay Vice Lipstick Big Bang:

  • Bright fuchsia lipstick with cool fuchsia and light pink micro glitter.
  • Extremely eye catching.
  • Smoother in texture than it looks.
  • Good pigmentation.
  • Lightweight texture.
  • Miicro glitter in the lipstick do not sink into fine lines of the lips.
  • Opaque coverage.
  • No feathering or bleeding.
  • Distinctive, light packaging – easy to travel with.

Cons of Urban Decay Vice Lipstick Big Bang:

  • Managing the micro glitter migration and the final removal of all the micro glitters from the lips is the only challenge.

IMBB Rating:
A 3.5/5 product.

This is a nice lipstick with a much better texture than I had envisaged post swatching it for the first time. Yes, it will not appeal to everyone, such bright shades rarely do and with the micro glitter in it – it is quite an attention-seeking colour.

Do I Recommend Urban Decay Vice Lipstick Big Bang?
While the formula and texture is nice and i will enjoy using this occasionally. I do not see myself running out to buy a replacement – say, if i lost it! *Knock on wood*
