Today I am reviewing eye liner from Vapour Organic beauty in the shade Viper. I mostly wear black eyeliner, but I wanted to try colored eyeliners. Please read below to known my experience with this eyeliner.
Product Description from the website:
Mesmerize Eyeliner glides on like a dream delivering a smooth precise line for a perfectly defined eye. You can also use the blending tool for a seductive, smoky eye. Finally, professional performance in an organic eyeliner
• Glides on without skipping, dragging, or tugging the skin
• Beautifully blendable
• Contains none of the harsh adhesives in traditional eyeliners
• Moisturizing to delicate eye area
• Eye definition that’s good for your eyes
• Gluten Free
The eyeliner comes in a very nice package and looks great. The eyeliner comes in a wooden ashy silver packaging with eyeliner at one end and a smoky eye tool at the other end. Both ends come enclosed in a silver cap. The eyeliner is travel friendly, you don’t have to worry that the tip of the eyeliner is going to break.
My experience with Vapour Organic Beauty – Mesmerize Eyeliner/Smoky Eye Tool
Let’s talk about the color first. On Vapour beauty’s website, the color viper is described as decadent plum. But the color is nowhere near it. When I swatched it on my hand, it just looked like a light brown color. When you look at it closely, you see the plum color. On my eyelids, I did notice the plum color more. I bought from Vapour beauty website, so I couldn’t try it on in person. I purchased this eyeliner because I thought it would give me a nice aubergine color but I am terribly disappointed with the color pigmentation. The color doesn’t show up on my eyelids. When I tried to line my upper lash line, I really had to dig the pencil in to my lid for the color to even remotely show up on my eyelids. It gives a light plum color on eyelids, you can barely see it in the pictures. In the hand swatches, I had to draw several times for the color to show.
Let’s get in to the details about the texture. It doesn’t glide on smoothly. It tugs on my eyelids, color appears uneven. It is not the softest crayon to use on eyelids. It doesn’t live up to its claims of gliding on without skipping, dragging, or tugging the skin.
One thing I like about the pencil is the smoky eye tool that comes with it. The smudging tool is absolutely great and works like a charm. On my hand when I used the smudger at the end of the pencil, it smokes out the line well. I used the smudger with the black eyeliner I own, and it smokes the liner well.
The staying power is pretty bad. It pulls a disappearing act by the end of the day on my upper lash line. On my water line, it didn’t even last an hour. But the eyeliner didn’t irritate my eyes at all. The eyeliner is 70% organic and it is vegan. The eyeliner is really pricey for such a small quantity, half the size of drugstore pencil. I am terribly disappointed with the performance of the pencil.
Pros of Organic Beauty – Mesmerize Eyeliner/Smoky Eye Tool in Viper:
• Doesn’t irritate the eyes
• vegan and organic, no harsh chemicals
• Smoky eye tool works well
• Travel friendly
Cons of Organic Beauty – Mesmerize Eyeliner/Smoky Eye Tool in Viper:
• Doesn’t apply smoothly
• Pigmentation of the eyeliner is bad
• Eyeliner disappears after a few hours after you apply
Will I repurchase Organic Beauty – Mesmerize Eyeliner/Smoky Eye Tool in Viper:
No. This eyeliner doesn’t live up to claims. The color doesn’t even show up well. I can find drug store eyeliners that perform really well for a fraction of cost.
