Veet Hair Removal Cream for Normal Skin Review
Hi everyone,
We all face this issue of removing the unwanted hair from our body. There are many options for the same, waxing, epilators, razors, laser treatment but the most handy is to use a hair removing cream though I don’t prefer this over waxing but sometimes when I am in a hurry and don’t have the patience to sit for waxing I do use depilatory creams. I am going to review one of these creams today.
Product being reviewed: Veet Hair Removal Cream for Normal Skin
Ingredients:
Aqua, Urea, Thioglycolate, Paraffinum, Liquidum, Cetearyl Alcohol, Calcium Hydroxide, Talc, Cetereath-20, Glycerin, Parfum, Magnesium trisilicate, Potassium Hydroxide, CI 77891, Propylene Glycol, Lithium Sodium Magnesium Silicate, Lotus Flower Milk, Acrylates Copolymer, Prunus Amygadalus Dulcis Oil, Sodium Gluconate, Hydrated Silica, CI 45380
What the product claims?
Veet Hair Removal Cream ensures effective hair removal in only 3 minutes. It comes with moisturiser complex to leave your skin even more touchably smooth. Veet for normal skin also contains Lotus milk which is known for its skin softening and calming properties. The result- incredibly smooth, soft and beautiful skin. What’s more, it comes with the pleasant floral fragrance of jasmine, unlike the unbearable odour of ordinary hair removal creams.
Price/ Quantity/ Packaging
INR 85 for 100gms. It comes in a baby pink coloured tube with a same coloured cap. Also, a spatula is included along with it to help spread and removing the cream. The curvaceous spatula is a good concept and does come in handy while application or removal. The packaging is quite ok and can be considered travel friendly.
My take on the product
It is a light pink coloured cream which is not very thick. It gets spread very easily and covers the area from which hair needs to be removed easily. After 5 minutes or so, the hair does come out as in u start seeing the hair shrinking while the cream is on which shows that the cream is doing its job. One shudders to think that it melts away the roots of the hair but it is not that scary in real life. You don’t feel any kind of sensation/itching/burning while the cream is on. The only thing which i detest is the awful smell which makes me nauseating. Although the pack says jasmine fragrance but there is not even an iota of jasmine fragrance in this cream. Also, the product says that it removes hair in 3 minutes but my experience says otherwise, you need to put it for atleast 5 minutes if the hair is coarser. The skin does feels soft devoid of any obnoxious hair but you have to bear with that smell till you take your next bath 😀 Skin remains hair free for 4-5 days after which i start seeing small hair growing out.
Summarising the pros and cons:
Pros of Veet Hair Removal Cream for Normal Skin
1. Handy tube packaging
2. Easy to remove hair while sitting amidst the comfort of your house.
3. Hair free skin in 4-5 minutes.
4. No itching/burning sensation.
5. Leaves skin baby soft.
Cons of Veet Hair Removal Cream for Normal Skin
1. Whole lot of chemicals involved.
2. Smell is awful, can’t even sniff jasmine or other floral fragrance, total exaggeration about it.
Will I repurchase/recommend?
Waxing definitely has its advantages over this but ya its a good quick-fix and always comes in handy so I would repurchase and recommend
