The moment I knew Versace has lipsticks too, I had to get my hands on one. A few hurried calls to my beauty-holic friends, and couple of google searches and within minutes I had ordered online the only available shade and had a friend from London ship it to me. This was the only time I had purchased a lipstick without trying out or even checking out a swatch online. But it was from Versace and just I had to have one! The lipstick arrived and it was one bi awesome surprise in a tiny package!
Ranges from $22 to $36 on different websites.
The packaging is very stylish and opulent. The outer cover was a white and silver Versace cardboard box. The lipstick comes in a stylish glossy golden case with the iconic medusa head logo carved between the cap and the lower portion of the case. The cap fits very snugly on the lower portion and never comes off when I am carrying it around in my handbag or pocket.
My experience with Versace Lipstick V2063:
Ever since forever I had wanted a lipstick in red but always ended up buying a more ‘practical’ shade. And not until I dot this one did I know I could actually pull one off. The moment I opened the lipstick cap, and saw the bright true red shade, it was pure ecstasy. It is true red in blue tone and matte finish. The shade can be easily described in just one word – Red. Just the perfect shade to dress up a simple evening dress, the only accessory needed with the LBD!
The texture of the lipstick is quite smooth and creamy and it glides very smoothly on the lips. It gives a nice velvety matte finish, but can be made shiny with a light clear gloss. The lipstick is non bleeding and non cakey. It has very excellent color pay off and you get a rich color in just one swipe. Two coats of the lipstick gives a killer Hollywood look. It is a very long stay lipstick and stays for more than 6 hours. In fact the pigmentation is so high that it gets a little difficult to remove the lipstick. A faint red lingers on the lips for a couple of hours.
After 5-7 minutes of application, the lipstick dries, becoming non transferable. The drying of the lipstick becomes a con as it dries out the lips too. It takes 2-3 swipes of my most trusted lip balm to heel the lips after using this lipstick. Also, since the lipstick has a matte finish and drying properties, the lips has to be moisturized well and primes before use. If you have dry and cracked lips, you have to stay clear of this one as it actually enhanced the lines on the lips.

I have loved it from the moment this lipstick hit my lips. But I am now over the brand factor and after finishing this one, I would like to explore other options. I also like MAC’s Russian Red, maybe that would be the next buy. But hey, if you can get your hands on one of these beauties by Versace, do try it out!
