My Experience with Vichy Aqualia Thermal Awakening Eye Balm:

No matter how many ever eye creams I have used, a little something that acts as a pick-me-up for the eyes is a must, in my opinion. There are days when we just need to refresh the eye area and provide some cooling to calm down the puffiness. Thankfully, puffiness is not my major concern for the eyes, but I still decided to try this baby out to refresh my eyes and boy, I was right!

The Vichy Aqualia Thermal Awakening Eye Balm is a nice compact bottle made of pale-blue colored plastic that looks really soothing and refreshing. The bottle has a pump dispenser which is always welcome considering the hygiene factor. The cooling sensation of the eye balm gel brightens and refreshes the eye area to help alleviate under-eye puffiness and dark circles. It is infused with interesting ingredients to hydrate and nourish the delicate skin around your eyes. It is perfect for travel when you need an on-the-spot treatment to awaken the under eye skin throughout the day. What’s best about this product is that this gel makes the fine lines under the eye disappear instantly and acts a great eye primer. The under eye concealer goes on flawlessly after applying this gel and primes the area for a smooth finish.

The scent of this product is pretty negligible as it doesn’t smell like anything vividly. In fact, the scent is so weak that it won’t bother anyone who is sensitive to strong fragrances. This product provides an immediate cooling sensation when applied to the skin. Since the product is a lightweight gel-balm, it does take a couple of minutes to sink into the skin and calm down the skin. I use it every day and especially when I do not get a good night’s sleep and I have noticed that it does reduce puffiness around my eyes a bit, but it has done nothing for my mild dark circles. Not that it’s supposed to be a miracle product for the dark circles, and I am not expecting it to do so any way. I find that it is also slightly moisturizing, though it wouldn’t replace an eye cream for the night time, but can work as a day time eye cream before makeup.

I have been using the Vichy Aqualia Thermal Awakening Eye Balm every day non-stop since a fortnight and I still have quite a lot of product in my tube. I use it especially when my eyes have been feeling extra tired or puffy. Overall, I am quite impressed with this baby and I plan to repurchase this whenever I run out of it.

• Not too sure what it does for dark circles.

Hell yes!! If you are not convinced to try this out after reading this, I don’t know what will convince you! Trust me ladies, do give this baby a try as it is a great product that comes in handy when you need to perk up the under eye area. This baby is like an “unsung hero” kind of product from the drugstore which sure deserves much more recognition and love. This product has become a permanent member in my skin care stash and I shall keep repurchasing this till Vichy keeps manufacturing it!
