Victoria’s Secret Heavenly Angel Mist Review

Dream’s Heavenly Angel was one of Victoria’s top rated best selling fragrances. They removed some notes from it making it lighter and less layered, and changed the bottle design and released this new version in 2013. Was that a good decision?

My Experience with Victoria’s Secret Heavenly Angel Mist:

The original fragrance was much more complex with its quince, cardamom, ivy mandarin, lotus, white peony, freesia, iris, violet, white musk, sandalwood, orchid and vanilla. Out of the 13 notes, 4 notes remain and they are selling it under the same name! That is not justice done in any way. I cannot help but compare everything to its previous version. The former had such a complex breakdown of notes. This one smells like a mush of hot (not warm) notes only. I am the kind of person who adores warm notes the best in perfumes and I can’t stand this one at all. Even with just the warm notes it is not all the creamy, vanilla blanket that it was before. It is more on the edge of being a burnt perfume than one with so called warm notes. It is almost on the borderline of being called an insect spray or glass cleaner.

The staying power is about average – lasts for about 2-3 hours and then fades to a less strong version of itself and nothing else as the break up of notes is poor.

I like the packaging a lot though. I love the nice pink letters on the transparent plastic bottle, that shiny gold cap that is transparent on the outside and gold inside and love the glossy gold writings. I like the cylindrical model with rounded rather than sharp edges.

I would love to be able to defend the fragrance because I so love Victoria’s Secret. The only thing I like about it unfortunately is the cutesy packaging.

Victorias Secret Heavenly Mist

Pros of Victoria’s Secret Heavenly Angel Mist:

  • Glossy, classy packaging.

Cons of Victoria’s Secret Heavenly Angel Mist:

  • They have removed 9/13 notes from the original fragrance.
  • No break up of notes.
  • Too warm, almost to the extent of being burnt.

Would I Repurchase Victoria’s Secret Heavenly Angel Mist?

Never again. Even for a person who loves her warm notes, this was intolerable.

Would I Recommend Victoria’s Secret Heavenly Angel Mist?

Not one bit. If warm note lovers cannot take this imagine fruity-floral lovers!
