How are all the pretty chicas doing? Let me guess. Busy sweating it out to shed enough winter weight to fit back into your pretty summer dresses? Talking about Pretty. Which colour do you always associate with the word “pretty”? Did I hear “pink”, oh yes pink it is. So my post is all about Victoria’s Secret Make Me Pink Whipped Vanilla and Orchid Luminous Body Lotion. The very word “Victoria’s Secret” brings out all the feminism in me, in a very nice way. Does it for you too?!! Alright, so let’s get started.
The quantity mentioned is 500 ml for $12.
This body lotion comes in a very cute and girly pinkish violet square box with a pump dispenser on top. The packaging is quite sturdy and is great for girls like me with butter fingers 😉 . The container is opaque and hence it is not possible to determine how much of the lotion is still left.
“Get glowing in Pink Luminous Lotion conditions and highlights your Body with a combo of Vitamin E and Aloe plus a hint of skin brightening shimmer. A mix of whipped Vanilla and Orchid will totally Make Me Pink”
(For a grammar Nazi like me, the above quoted description made me cringe but that’s exactly what is written on the box.)
Direction for Use:
For pink results, slather on after you are done cleaning up.
My Take on Victoria’s Secret Make Me Pink Whipped Vanilla and Orchid Luminous Body Lotion:
Now here’s a disclaimer before I get started. I use this whipped Vanilla and Orchid luminous body lotion sparingly, on special occasions as I don’t want to finish it up like my Bath and Body Works body creams.
Now comes the fun part. This body lotion is my personal favourite. Honestly I have even got nightmares of finishing up this bottle. Stupid, right? It’s a pearl white lotion with golden shimmer and pink undertone to it. The consistency is neither very thick nor runny. You can call it a blend of both cream and lotion.
The colour of this lotion gives it that rich and lavish look. Whenever I use it, I feel like some celebrity in for a pampering session. It absorbs beautifully leaving behind the golden shimmer for that nice glow with a hint of pink. I even tried it on my face as a makeup base instead of moisturizer and it didn’t disappoint me. The richness of the cream helped me attain a dewy look whereas the pink undertone gave a nice natural subtle blushing effect. In fact my friends even asked me why I was blushing pink *aweeee*. The quantity shown in the picture is all that is needed to give that subtle glittery effect to your hand. You can use more but then that will add to the shimmer as well. This cream goes a long way. 🙂
Well I know I am guilty of using a body lotion on my face. Isn’t my face a part of my body too 😛 . The shimmer is so natural and subtle if applied in the right quantity that it is evident only in sunlight. You can be rest assured that in any other light, all you will get is a nice celebrity glow and a satin smooth skin. Refer to the image below, taken in sunlight.
It is a good bargain for both dry and oily skin girls. For summers and less colder seasons it works perfectly. Doubt if I can say the same for winters. Coming to the fragrance; you can feel it trickle down every olfactory nerve of your body and mesmerizing your senses, leaving you wanting for more. Whipped Vanilla and Orchid blended together teleports you to some distant dreamland made of sugar and spice and everything nice 🙂 . How I wish I could enclose the fragrance of this lotion in this post 🙁 and you’ll would exactly know what unexplained intoxication comes along with this lotion. I once had a strong urge to taste this lotion (but I controlled, thankfully). Don’t blame me, the fragrance is the culprit . 😛
Pros of Victoria’s Secret Make Me Pink Whipped Vanilla and Orchid Luminous Body Lotion:
- Rich texture with subtle shimmer.
- Imparts a very natural pink undertone.
- Can be used as a makeup base.
- Suitable for all skin types.
- Amazingly intoxicating fragrance, very girly.
Cons of Victoria’s Secret Make Me Pink Whipped Vanilla and Orchid Luminous Body Lotion:
- No SPF. 🙁
- Not easily available in India.
- May be you can find it online but again be prepared to pay more than what you can get it for, in US.
- Girls with dry skin might not find it very moisturizing during winters.
- Other than these can’t think of any other cons. 🙂
Will give it a 4.8/5
0.2 deducted for availability and SPF.
Would I recommend/repurchase Victoria’s Secret Make Me Pink Whipped Vanilla and Orchid Luminous Body Lotion?
I am going to lock it up and be super careful about its usage till I have another bottle of this cream. I am screaming out loud that YES I AM GOING TO BUY IT again and again 🙂 . Girls, Try it out without any second thoughts.
