I am a fragrance fanatic. Fragrance is the first thing that I always notice in a product. So perfumes and I go a long way. In fact every time my hubby gets me a gift, it surely includes a new perfume.
Few months back when I went to restock my Victoria’s Secret Bombshell (an old favourite), I noticed the beautiful elegant bottle of Night next to it. I thought of giving it a try and ended up gleefully restocking Bombshell together with a new bottle of Night.
Price: $52 for 1.7 fl.oz
Own the Night: this provocative eau de parfum is the perfect co-star, with a warm, sparkling fragrance inspired by midnight in Paris.
Top notes: Midnight Orchid, Dark Woods, Ocean Water Mist Accord, Jasmine Noir, Sparkling Lemon and Luscious Apple.
Heart notes: Hamptons Beach Flower, Tiger Lily, Midnight Violet, Black Plum, Valencia Orange, Indigo Iris, Angel Flower and Purple Peony.
Base notes: Dark Amber, Sandalwood, Velvet Woods, Bourbon Vanilla, Driftwood, Tonka Bean, Velvet Musk, White Patchouli and Black Raspberry.
My Experience with Victoria’s Secret Night Eau de Parfum:
Packaging: The perfume comes in an elegant glass bottle with a black body and jewelled cap, truly reminiscent of its name – “Night”. It has a kind of drama to it and for some reason I am reminded of the old classic Hollywood movies.
I personally love its sleek design; however, you might have difficulty in knowing how much of the perfume is used up because of the opaque bottle.
The fragrance notes I sense directly from the bottle are woody and floral ones which surprisingly changes when tried on skin. When tried on, the first note to hit me is a heady mix of musk and woody scent which immediately gives way to added citrus and amber notes as the perfume settles, finally fading to a delicious floral scent hours later. It is not a typical sweet, girly perfume and not something a college goer would prefer. It has an alluring rich sophisticated feminine scent which is perfect for evenings and night parties. Since the scent is not too overpowering, I use it as a day perfume too.
The perfume lasts well for about 5-6 hours on me, after which the mild floral base notes linger. On clothes, it lasts till next laundry. The lasting power of fragrances also depends on your skin type and they fade easily on dry skin, hence applying them on moisturized skin is very essential. To make the scent last longer, I apply it right after a shower so that it sinks easily into the pores. I also layer it with a matching scented moisturizer.
Night is not one of those perfumes that get noticed miles away. I wouldn’t call the scent provocative as the product claims; it’s rather a sensual feminine scent for me that exudes grace and confidence.
Pros of Victoria’s Secret Night Eau de Parfum:
• An amazing sophisticated feminine scent.
• The bottle is elegantly designed and fashionably sleek.
• The lasting power is great and it eventually fades with soothing floral notes.
• Does not irritate my skin and doesn’t leave patches when applied on clothes.
• Though best suited for evenings, it can be worn all day as the scent is not overpowering.
• It is an all-season fragrance.
• Is available online in India through almost all major shopping websites.
Cons of Victoria’s Secret Night Eau de Parfum:
• The only con I can think of is the opaque packaging, in case you want to keep track of the perfume usage.
IMBB Rating: 4.8/5
Would I Repurchase/Recommend Victoria’s Secret Night Eau de Parfum?
I will repurchase this only if it is available on sale as there are a number of other perfumes that I really want to try. But I do recommend it. It is sensuous, elegant, soothing and feminine, a perfect evening perfume that is sure to get you lots of compliments!!
