Victoria’s Secret Secret Escape Fragrance Mist Review

VS had recently launched few new fragrances in its VS Fantasies collection…one of them being the VS Secret Escape Fragrance Mist, which I am going to review for you here today….

Packaging:

The fragrance mist is packaged in an orangish yellow plastic bottle with a spray nozzle on it. The floral imprints add a beautiful touch to the packaging. The fragrance mist looks very appealing and attractive. Similar to its earlier counterparts of VS Fantasies collection the bottle has a sturdy travel-friendly packaging.

Price:

250ml bottle is priced at $14.
Though there are frequent discounts always on the VS Fantasies collection.

Fragrance:

The fragrance is said to contain notes of freesia and guava flowers….I love guavas…but in no way does this fragrance reminds me of the luscious green and red juicy guavas 🙁

The fragrance is not at all floral and neither can it be classified as fruity either. When I first apply the fragrance it has a mild citrusy fragrance to it, which within few minutes changes to a more chemical kind of aroma. Infact it smells mildly like the surgical spirit……and that’s the last thing you want your fragrance to smell like.

My Experience with Victoria’s Secret Secret Escape Fragrance Mist:

I feel like I want to ‘escape’ from the VS Secret Escape. Since, this was a recent launch in the VS Fantasies group I had a very high expectation with the mist. However, this fragrance mist has been a let down for me. The description and the fragrance do not match with each other.

Also the fragrance mist is very light, which does not stay for long on the skin. After an hour I can barely smell it at all. Since, the mist fragrance is not very appealing I hesitate to reapply it multiple times because I do not want to be smothered in an artificial fragrance.

This fragrance mist also contains aloe and chamomile, but their presence do not seem to be of much help. This fragrance range has been launched along with its body lotion and body butter too, so it is necessary that it needs to be layered for prolonged fragrance.

Pros of Victoria’s Secret Secret Escape Fragrance Mist:

I had to think a lot for the first time for a VS Fantasies collection to write about its good qualities 🙁

The fragrance has a very mild citrusy fragrance (but does not last for long).
It has aloe and chamomile to it (but of not much help in body mist).
Packaging is ok.

Cons of Victoria’s Secret Secret Escape Fragrance Mist:

Fragrance is not pleasant.
Fragrance can neither be classified as floral or fruity.
It has a more prominent chemical fragrance to it.
Does not last for more than an hour.
Has to be layered for the fragrance to last longer.
Would require constant reapplication.

This fragrance is not in sync with other of its contemporaries in VS Fantasies collection.

Would I repurchase Victoria’s Secret Secret Escape Fragrance Mist?

No I would not buy this product. Infact I am contemplating returning the body mist.

Since the fragrance has been so non-appealing I would not buy the body lotion or shower gel of this fragrance range either.

Please let me know how was your experience with this body mist.

Interesting… i was searching how to buy MORE of this but it’s been discontinued. Maybe I’m the only one who likes it? Haha.
Though honestly, I get a lot of compliments when I wear it. I layer it with the Secret Escape body lotion.
The chemical smell in my bottle is minor but I know what you mean, I notice it when I first spray it but it then disappears. I’d say it more smells like alcohol.
The scent I find to be uplifting, vibrant, and fruity. Though less like guava, more like watermelon.
