Victoria’s Secret Secret Escape Hydrating Body Lotion Review

Skin type: Normal to oily

Hello!
I have never been a body lotion person, maybe because I am extremely lazy and also a slow poke, so I end up running late. But I make sure I have a stock of body lotions in my cabinet for those days when I feel blue and need to pamper myself, including weekends 😀 Enough of the rambling, let’s head to the review.

My Experience with Victoria’s Secret Secret Escape Hydrating Body Lotion:

This is my first ever product from Victoria’s Secret. I wanted to settle for a body mist but since I had to get it online, I was skeptical since I did not want to invest in it without sniffing it. Even though the fragrance notes will be mentioned sometimes you may end up disliking it.

bottle

Talking about the Secret Escape lotion, it comes in a big cream colored bottle. The golden plastic cap needs to be pressed from the top to release the opening on the other side. This way it eliminates the possibility of spillage.

The lotion is cream colored with a pinkish tinge to it. As the description suggests, it does smell heavenly at the first sniff. It is indeed fresh and all summery, not too floral. Honestly I never had a chance to know what freesia or guava flowers smell like, but I’ll assume the lotion smells something like them. Freesia is a commonly used flower for fragrances. The fragrance is sheer and soft.

The lotion has a good consistency, not too runny and spreads easily. It gets absorbed within seconds and you are left with soft and smooth skin. It hydrates my normal skin really well. It stays moisturized throughout the day. I think it’ll do as good a job on dry skin as well. One disappointing thing with this one was that the fragrance just fades away very soon. It was really disheartening. Nonetheless it doesn’t stop me from reaching for it after shower!

Would I Recommend Victoria’s Secret Secret Escape Hydrating Body Lotion?
If you expect to smell like a meadow all day long, then this is not for you. I’d recommend this to those who look for a good hydrating lotion that happens to smell good, only for a while.
