I am excited about reviewing my very first body mist from Victoria’s Secret. This is one of the body mists my friend brought back from Hawaii for me. I was so excited when one of my friends asked me what I wanted from Hawaii and I had asked for some “Bath and Body Works” and “Victoria’s Secret” products.
Most of them have already been reviewed on IMBB, actually I based my haul on IMBB recommendations. The only body mists I have used so far are the Body Shop’s mists, Moringa and Strawberry. I was so pleased with the effect of these body mists, especially on my mood, I wanted to try more.
The product I am reviewing today is from the “Summer Freshes,” which is a new range for this summer (Summer in USA-it’s still winter here in Australia). I made a list of the stuff I wanted using the VS website and IMBB. My lovely friend brought me back a bagful of stuff. This is the very first mist I opened as I was so attracted to the cute yet simple packaging. Besides, I am so into natural fragrances these days and I am all for floral and fruity notes. I am quite over artificial fragrances and prefer something lighter and feminine for day wear.
As soon as I saw this bottle and held it in my hand, I felt like a five-year-old holding a Barbie doll, I was impressed and felt indulged.
Stay cool all season long with this limited-edition mix of sheer water lily and hyacinth. All new from our VS Fantasies Summer Freshes collection. My Experience with Victoria’s Secret Sheer Water Lily Fragrance Mist:
First of all, I am overly impressed with the quantity given for USD 12 and also the fresh and cute packaging. This comes in a sturdy plastic bottle with a mist nozzle. The bottle is transparent and has a modest-looking label. This fragrance has water lily and hyacinth as notes. I am loving the fragrance of hyacinth since I started using a L’Oreal sulphate-free shampoo recently. Since my L’Occitane shampoo doesn’t wash off oil from my hair on the days I oil it, I have been alternating it with L’Oreal sulphate-free shampoo. I love the hyacinth notes in this mist as well as my shampoo, it reminds me of some lovely childhood memories.
At first, spraying the mist was a problem as it didn’t spray on properly. However, on subsequent attempts, it worked well. This mist in addition to having a pleasant fragrance also has camellia as well as aloe vera extracts to calm the senses. As soon as I spray this on my body, it felt cool. This is an ideal body mist for summer, but I just couldn’t wait till summer. I have started using this now and because of the quantity, this will last me through to winter.
The fragrance is so natural, floral and fresh. This is also pretty subtle and the fragrance easily lasts for around six hours, beating even some other expensive brands. There is a lotion and body soufflé available in the same range for layering. I would definitely like to stock up on this mist if I could. Unfortunately, I can’t do that because VS is not available in Australia. I am using this mist sparingly as I want it to last for as long as possible.
Pros of Victoria’s Secret Sheer Water Lily Fragrance Mist:
- Feminine, fresh and refreshing scent with subtle notes.
- Contains aloe and camellia to refresh skin and cool it.
- Price is reasonable for the quantity received.
- Does not irritate skin.
- The bottle and packaging is cute and chic.
- Sleek and sturdy packaging, can be carried around because of plastic packaging.
- Lasts for around 6 hours.
Cons of Victoria’s Secret Sheer Water Lily Fragrance Mist:
- Initially alcohol smell is obvious, but this fades after a while.
- This is not suitable for ladies who prefer highly-scented body mists.
- Contains a lot of chemicals.
This product has made me interested in the Victoria’s Secret body care range. I so wish these were available in Australia.
