Hello lovely ladies,
Hope you are taking good care of yourself in this scorching heat! Apart from sun tan, the issue that I usually face in summers is a super oily hair scalp. My scalp sweats a lot due to regular travelling and I look as if I have applied tons of oil in my hair.. 🙁 I always try to use shampoo as less as possible; however as an office-goer I need to use shampoo at least 3 times a week especially during summer time. Some days when I don’t get time to wash my hair, the product which always comes in handy is a volumising spray.
So today I am going to review Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Volume Hairspray. Let’s dig into the details of this product.
The Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Boost and Lift Hair Spray provides volume without weighing your hair down, and holds for up to 24 hours. The lightweight formula helps prevent fly-aways and is hold resistant to wind and humidity. Perfected by experts the hairspray formula helps control unruly hair for a fashionably weightless, pumped up feeling.
• Hairspray that holds for up to 24 hours
• Helps control unruly hair for a pumped up weightless feeling
• For a perfect prep use with Pro Series Boost and Lift Shampoo and Conditioner
• Lightweight long-lasting volume
Price: USD 5 for 14 fl oz.
My Experience with Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Volume Hairspray:
I have shoulder length straight hair which tends to fall flat after a wash or a blow dry. So a hair spray/volumising product always comes in handy for me. Since I have a very oily scalp I look like a ghost if I don’t get time to shampoo my hair; so as a quick fix I use this product (I make sure to wash my hair the very next day).To avoid build up I have used quite a few hair sprays till date this hair spray stands pretty tall.
I have used it mostly after washing my hair or when my hair is very unruly and oily. You have to spray it once/twice but make sure you spray from some distance. It gives lift and volume with flexibility and hold. The fragrance is very light and nice. The smell does not stay for long and it failed to hold my hair for 24 hours (too tall claim!). But it does hold my hair for a good 8-10 hours. To add more volume and to keep the hold for long, I blow dry my hair on the lowest setting after this spray or comb my hair upside down( it helps trapping some air inside thereby giving more volume) and then spray it once again to set my hair. In one of my friend’s reception I had curled my hair and used this spray. It did quite a nice job.
This is more watery in nature rather than greasy/oily. It does not make your scalp oily at all.
Pros of Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Volume Hairspray
• Not greasy at all.
• It holds hair nicely for at least 8 hours
• Comes in an easy to use spray bottle.
• Smell is sweet and not overpowering.
Cons of Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Volume Hairspray:
• Availability is an issue.
• Not 100% true as per claim to hold hair upto 24 hours( after 8+ hours the effect starts to diminish)
IMBB Rating: 3/5 (minus 1 for non-availability and party false claim)
Would I Repurchase Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Volume Hairspray?
Well, no as it is a big bottle and will last me for some time until I find a new one to try 😉 But yes you can definitely give it a shot if you are looking for a decent volumising product.
