My Experience with Viseart Sultry Muse Eyeshadow Palette:

Packaging:  Viseart is a professional makeup brand designed and mostly targeting consumers such as makeup artists, hence the palette is designed to be simple, practical and sturdy. There is nothing fancy about it. It has a clear lid which helps to easily identify the palette. It does come at a high price of $80, but if you breakdown the price per shadow for 12 shades, it’s actually quite reasonable at around $7 each.

Texture:  The eyeshadows in this palette are so smooth and buttery. They have an amazing feel to them; they are neither too hard nor too soft, just the perfect consistency, easy and effortless to blend. They layer on beautifully; do not feel dry or chalky on the lids.

Shades/Finish/Pigmentation:  All the shades in the “Sultry Muse” palette are shimmery while some contain specks of glitter hence this palette is designed to be used along with other palettes to compensate for the lack of matte shades. They do not kick up a whole lot of product when you dip your brush in, but with the glitter shades, you do get a minimal fall out. All the shades have very good pigmentation but the lighter colors are just a tad bit too light hence you do have to layer them to get the maximum opacity.

Though I am quite happy and impressed with these shimmery shades, they still do not beat the matte eyeshadows (from the dark mattes palette) I tried from Viseart. Given the choice between the two, I would still opt for the matte palette any day as I am a fan of bold colors and stronger pigmentation, but for those who enjoy more wearable and softer looks for their eyes, will absolutely love this palette and the shades it has to offer.

The eyeshadows do not have names hence I have labelled them numerically and will describe them to you in the same way:
Eyeshadows

1- A bright white, does have a little bit of glitter. Very good pigmentation and makes a great inner corner highlight.
2- A warm satin finish brown, universally flattering shade, can be used all over lid or to blend out other shades. Very good pigmentation.
3- A pale champagne gold with a very metallic sheen. Good pigmentation but needs to be layered on to achieve opacity to its full potential. Looks beautiful all over the lid and just gives a bright eye look.
4- A warm neutral taupe-y brown with a satin sheen. Another versatile and universally flattering shade. Good pigmentation.
5- A warm rosy pink with a metallic frosty finish. Excellent pigmentation. Gorgeous shade, one of my favorites in the palette.
6- A dark muddy brown with a satin finish. Excellent pigmentation and useful for doing dark smokey eyes.
7- A gorgeous burnt orange shade with a metallic frosty finish. Excellent pigmentation, looks gorgeous on the eyes. Another one my favorite in the palette.
8- A warm plumy brown with a silvery-pink sheen to it. Excellent pigmentation, easy to blend. I mainly use this on my outer V and crease to give some depth to my eye looks.
9- An icy blue tinged silver with a metallic finish. This shade has some glitter in it. Good pigmentation and can be layered to achieve full opacity.
10- A light pale pink with a satiny sheen. This shade a much muted softer sister of the shade 5. Perfect to create soft romantic eye looks.
11- A dark black with a satin sheen and blue shift. Excellent pigmentation, easy to achieve full opacity and can be smokey eye looks.
12- A perfect yellow gold with a pearly sheen. I love this shade for all over the lid or even in the inner corner. Good pigmentation.

Staying Power:  These shadows wear beautifully throughout the day with little to no fading. I did notice some creasing around 6 hours into the wear, bit I do have oily lids, hence using a primer base is a must for me.

Overall, I am quite impressed with these eyeshadows. I don’t consider this a perfect palette for me as I do love bold colors and every look I try to get with this combination of shadows is mostly soft and since most of them are in the same color family of neutrals, pinks, taupes and brown, they also turn out looking similar as you will notice in the EOTDS, where for every look, I have used a different combination of shades.

Also, since it is all shimmer/satin finish palette, you do have to pull in your own matte shades to work along with them. In the EOTD, I have tried as much as I could to only use this palette by itself to really assess the versatility, but in the end, I ended up pulling more of other shadows from my kitty, which ended up taking the center stage more than these shades.

If you are a fan of soft eye looks which are easy to create, I am sure you will love this palette immensely. When it comes to the texture and blend-ability of these shadows, I have no complaints. Pigmentation wise, they don’t pack as much of a punch (except for the second row) as the matte shades (from the dark matte palette) did when they blew my socks off, but I still love this palette a lot and will recommend it.

Look 1 using Row 1:  Used shade 3 all over lid and inner corner, blended 4 in the crease and 2 in the outer V.

Look 2 Using Row 2:  Layered shade 7 and 5 together on the lid popping a little of shade 10 in the center for a pop. Blended shade 8 in the crease and outer V. Used shade 9 to highlight inner corner.
