My Experience with VLCC Ayurveda Methi, Henna and Hibiscus Smooth and Shine Shampoo:
Let’s begin with the packaging of the product. The shampoo comes in a small, transparent plastic bottle. This clear bottle helps to keep an eye on the amount of the product left inside. The bottle closes with a bright green-colored flip top cap. The cap shuts very tightly and makes an audible click sound and ensures that this bottle is leak-proof and travel friendly. The bottle has a label at the back, which bears the product description, ingredients list and other necessary information about the product. Overall, the packaging is nice, sturdy and travel friendly.
The shampoo is light translucent greenish gel-like liquid. It has a mild hibiscus fragrance with a mix of henna aroma. The smell is just okay kind and I am not really a fan of such fragrance. And thankfully, the smell is very mild and not really overpowering. The smell fades away gradually after some time.
The consistency of the shampoo is slightly on the runnier side. The consistency is gel like and the shampoo spreads easily, but I need a good amount of the product to thoroughly cleanse my well-oiled hair and to create a rich lather. This shampoo perfectly removes all the dirt and grime from my hair and scalp. It removes excess oil from my hair and scalp but it is drying in nature. This happens with most of the hair care products that contain henna. They just don’t suit my hair type and makes my hair dry. So, it is necessary to properly oil my hair properly before every wash to prevent my hair from drying and keep them tangle free else it tangles my hair.
This shampoo gives satisfactory results with properly oiled hair but it dries out my hair when shampooed without oiling. It has decent cleansing properties and gives a squeaky clean feel to my hair. It adds a nice lustre to my hair but it is not really a smoothening shampoo contrary to what it claims when shampooed without oiling, but it softens the hair when the latter has been previously nourished. It also does not contribute in taming the frizz of my hair. So, it is mandatory to follow up with a conditioner to keep hair soft, manageable and frizz free.
This shampoo claims to make hair smooth, shiny and lustrous. This shampoo did not cause any kind of hair fall issues and it also does not cause hair breakage. So, this is a plus point as the condition of my hair got worsened and my hair fall has not been under control at all, but these shampoos do not cause hair fall. This shampoo is free from harmful chemicals like parabens. Overall, I have got mixed results with this product. It works nicely on properly oiled hair, so I don’t mind using it.
