My grandma was a big fan of Multani Mitti and used to apply this for getting flawless skin. I have heard so much about it from her. It is a very common yet effective magical clay for our skin concerns. Recently, VLCC has come up with its Ayurveda skin care range and has launched Multani Mitti face pack. Today, I am going to talk about VLCC Ayurveda Multani Mitti Face Pack. Let’s see how good is this product.

Directions for Use:
Take appropriate amount of face pack on your fingertips and apply evenly to the face and neck avoiding eye area. Allow it to dry for 10 to 15 minutes. Wash off with water with massaging action. Use twice a week for best results.

My Experience with VLCC Ayurveda Multani Mitti Face Pack:

First things first, this face pack comes in a simple tube packaging with graphical design on the cover of the tube. It is mess-free, sturdy and travel-friendly. The cap snaps shut and is totally leak-proof. The quantity provided is really good at this price value. This white coloured tube has a design of multani mitti and aloe vera on it. The description of the product, list of ingredients and other details has been mentioned on the back of the tube. Nothing great about the packaging, this one looks very simple.

The face pack is light brownish yellow in color; just like multani mitti. I don’t think it smells like fuller’s earth and it has some kind of sweet herbal fragrance. It is quite mild and dissipates after some minutes of application. This mask is a complete multi-tasking agent. It helps in bringing a refinement in the skin complexion. This pack is safe to be used on all skin types. This pack has a thick creamy consistency. It does not contain tiny granules. The texture of this pack is quite smooth, so it spreads on the skin easily and evenly. It does not feel heavy on the skin. Only a small quantity is good enough to cover the entire face.

I apply this pack on the full face, but away from the eyes with a brush to keep things neat and clean. I keep this pack for 15-20 minutes depending on the results I wish. Following this step, I wash my face with cold water and pat it dry. On drying, it settles to a matte clay look. After the required time, I massage it gently and then wash it off with normal water. I have no problem to rinse it off as the clay layer formed is very thin and not sticky in consistency. You can follow up with regular toner and moisturiser to meet your hydration needs. Overall, the formula is very gentle to the skin and it doesn’t feel stretchy.

Usually, before applying multani mitti we wet our face. But, I applied the pack without wetting my face to check if this dries out my face. This is because multani mitti has a tendency to make your face dry and stretchy once it dries down completely. The product description says this won’t cause any dryness, so I had to check this out by performing this test. Now, let’s get into the results.

I have used this mask quite a few times. Now, I shall talk about the results that I saw after using it. The pack felt quite relaxing on my skin and did not sting my skin. It did not cause any breakouts also. It suited my occasionally oily skin quite well. My skin woes and acne problems trouble me occasionally, so I have to incorporate good face masks in my skin care routine to detoxify my skin thoroughly. This mask gives an instant brightness to my face after a day of stressful work. My face looks radiant and fresh after using this. The boost that this mask gives to your face is not salon-like, yet it looks brighter. It makes my skin soft and smooth.

It improved my skin texture and also shrinks the size of the skin pores. It controlled the oil and sebum concentration, but not in a significant way. The oil control was not for more than 4-5 hours. My forehead started becoming shiny and the T-zone looked oily again after 4 hours. It is not very effective as an oil-controlling agent. But, I am not counting it much in the demerits list since it acted as a deep cleansing pack and made my face squeaky clean. The dullness in my complexion due to accumulation of dirt faded away. Plus, multani mitti has good toning and tightening properties due to the rich mineral content in it. So, it is an effective pack for those who have loose skin. It also helps in increasing blood circulation and has decent antiseptic properties for acne-prone skin.

My skin gets tanned during summer. It gets 1-2 tones darker because, I stay in a polluted city and you guys would definitely be familiar with the bane of pollution in such situations!!! Dirt and dust accumulation is so common here. This mask helps to even out the skin tone is used on a regular basis. If you have tough skin tan, then this will not be very beneficial in that case.

It provides decent amount of nourishment to your skin and makes your skin look healthy. Aloe vera extracts are known to soothe irritated skin. This mask also helps in calming tired skin and brings it back to life. It is not very hydrating as per the claims, but not very drying either. So, it will not be a concern for dry skinned people. You can follow up with a moisturiser to keep things balanced. The glowing effect of this pack stays for about a day. It is definitely not long staying. I use this mask four times a week.

This mask is a good deal at a very affordable price. It is enriched with goodness of Ayurveda and is paraben-free which is definitely a plus point. The effect is not very long-lasting, but it does perform well and provides a mild skin treatment. Overall, I am happy with this product and I might reconsider buying it again.
