VLCC Daily Protect Lip Balm in Strawberry Review

Hello Everyone,

Wishing all the readers a very very HAPPY 2013!!!!!!! I am looking forward to the beginning of this New Year with great enthusiasm and hope for some positive change in the society as well as within. So, what are your resolutions for this year, I have promised myself not to make impulsive purchases, and I am keeping my fingers crossed to abide by this at least for a few months 😀

VLCC Daily Protect Lip Balm in Strawberry Review

It’s the winter season and I simply cannot do without lip balms. My lips happen to be very dry and if not taken proper care of, they get swollen and chapped. I happen to have a huge stock of these because I have to get a new one when I am outside and have forgotten to carry one along with me. So, here is one such purchase for you all. It’s the VLCC Natural Sciences Daily Protect Lip Balm in Strawberry. I simply love strawberries for their properties and can’t resist them, so whenever I see a product specifying them, they end up in my stash.

Price:

INR 49 for 4 gm.

Key Ingredients:

Strawberry Extract, Shea Butter, Castor Oil, Vitamin E, Microcrystalline Wax, Silicone Blend, Zinc Oxide and Octyl Methoxy Cinnamate.

Packaging and Texture:

It comes in a stick form and has been recently launched by VLCC. Earlier, their lip balms were available in small jars or pots. This lip balm is strawberry flavored and resembles strawberry crush or strawberry jam in appearance but in a more solid form.

Directions For Use:

Glide on the lips for soft, moisturized lips. Use daily or apply as often as required.

My Experience with VLCC Daily Protect Lip Balm in Strawberry:

This was an on-the-go purchase when I had forgotten to carry my lip balm along with me. I simply love the tube packaging of lip balms as they make application so easy and can be carried easily, just open, twist, and apply.  So, when I saw this one, I picked it up without a second thought since it was from a brand like VLCC and have used their little pot version before. I had really high expectations from this one, but was in for a disappointment. The saying “expect nothing, you will never be disappointed” fits appropriate in a situation like this one.

Strawberry Lip Balm

Upon opening, you get a faint smell of strawberry that disappears as soon as it’s applied on the lips. It has a very light pink color that is hardly visible and feels heavy on the lips when applied more than once. I usually dab it with a tissue after applying and use it before wearing matte lipsticks. Nothing great about the moisturization part either. One needs to reapply within an interval of 1.5 to 2 hours and doesn’t do much for chapped lips, so not meant for use during winters, especially for those with extremely dry lips, but it does make my lips feel very soft.

Lip Balm

Pros of VLCC Daily Protect Lip Balm in Strawberry:

  • Lipstick tube packaging that makes application easy and hygienic.
  • Contains SPF 15.
  • Makes lips soft.
  • Easy on the pocket.

Cons of VLCC Daily Protect Lip Balm in Strawberry:

  • Short lasting power.
  • Feels heavy when applied twice.
  • Needs to be reapplied a number of times.
  • Does not cure chapped lips.

Would I Repurchase/Do I Recommend VLCC Daily Protect Lip Balm in Strawberry?

Absolutely no, there are other brands that offer better products at better prices. It would be worth to invest a little more and check out other available options.
