I hope you all are enjoying summers. It seems like these days summers are at its peak and applying sunscreen is an absolute necessity to protect skin from tanning and future sun damage. I recently came across this one from VLCC and got it, they have so many different types of sunscreens to suit every needs and I have heard some good things about them. Let’s see how this one fared for me.

My Experience with VLCC Extreme Sun Protection Cream SPF 60 PA+++:

It comes in a colorful yellow and white tube which has a matte finish with an orange flip open cap. The cap shuts well and there is no product leakage. I really like this bright and colorful packaging it is simple and functional.

The cream inside is opaque white in color with a semi thick consistency. It has a sweet and slightly fruity fragrance somewhat like raspberries which is not at all overpowering, I was hoping for a mango fragrance but never mind 😛 I use this sunscreen solely for my body and prefer other more lightweight and gel based options for face as I have extremely oily skin. Due to the slightly thick texture it needs some blending to get completely absorbed into the skin. It best to use little quantity at a time with this one as it does leave a whitish cast if applied in more quantity or not blended well.

It feels slightly heavy and quite moisturizing as well so if you have oily or acne prone skin then this is definitely not at all suitable for face as it will clog pores really easily and can also cause sweating on face due to the thick texture. For dry skin you can give it a try once. It looks very natural on skin, it does not look matte or overly shiny just looks like skin. Whenever I use this sunscreen for body I skip the body lotion, as I do not have dry skin and this alone is quite moisturizing. It claims to contain some natural ingredients like mango seed oil, but the complete ingredients list is not disclosed. Also it is not water-resistantso not very ideal for swimming as well.

It contains broad spectrum SPF 60 which is very ideal for summers and I apply it 20-30 minutes before stepping out so that it absorbs completely and reapply it every 3 hours if I am outdoors. I have slightly sensitive skin and my arms get tanned very easily with barely a few minutes out in the sun and this one effectively prevents that, it did not cause any irritation on my skin. It is priced nicely for the quantity provided and it is a quite good sunscreen for body.

Cons of VLCC Extreme Sun Protection Cream SPF 60 PA+++:

• Slightly thick texture takes time to get absorbed completely
• Leaves behind a whitish cast if not blended well
• Not water resistant
• Not ideal to be used to face if you have oily skin
• Will cause breakouts or clog pores due to the heavy texture when used on face
• Complete ingredients list is not disclosed

Do I recommend VLCC Extreme Sun Protection Cream SPF 60 PA+++?

It is a very good sunscreen but only for body, it is not a good idea to use it for face, I am not sure if I will repurchase it.
