VLCC Gold Peel-Off Mask Review

VLCC Gold Peel-Off Mask Review

Hey Pretty Ones!

I am back in my comfort zone, i.e., writing reviews on skin care products. Durga Puja has come to an end and we all have lathered our faces with different kinds of cosmetics in these few days. Now, its the time to take good care of our skin once again to get it prepared for the next “onslaught” in Diwali 😉 The product I will review today is Gold Peel-Off Mask from VLCC.  I never liked peel-off masks and we never bought peel-off masks as my mother shares this dislike. It is solely because of the fact that we feel the “peeling off” process tugs and pulls at the facial skin making it loose in the long run. But this time I thought of giving this a try to check if it can alter my view of peel-off masks. Read on to find out how it fared!

VLCC Gold Peel Off Mask Review

Price:

Rs. 135 for 75 gm.

Product Description/Ingredients/Directions For Use:

Gold Face Pack Ingredients

To tell the truth, I was attracted by the ingredients list.  A combination of aloe vera, sandalwood, lemon peel, turmeric and vitamin E apart from gold oxide and triclosan was enough to tempt me. I have fairly good skin (thanks to my genes), so I can always try out new products without the fear of it effecting my skin negatively.

Packaging:

Peel Off Mask

It comes in an easy squeeze tube with a golden flip top cap. The pin inside the cap is very fragile and it broke with the second usage. Now, I can’t keep the tube in its normal upside down position as the pack spills out 🙁

Texture and Fragrance:

Gold Peel Off Mask

The mask smells lightly of lemon. It is golden in color, but the texture is not as smooth as I would want a mask to be. Its hard nature makes it a bit difficult to spread it on the face, but that may be because of the weather here. The year round cool weather here makes every cream, lipstick or mask a bit harder than how they should be.

Though they mentioned applying a thin layer, I always felt that applying a thicker layer would help in peeling off easily and that would prevent too much tugging on the skin.

I kept it till it dried and then slowly peeled it off. It took a lot of time to get all of it off my face. After splashing my face with water, I had to apply a generous amount of moisturizer as it made my skin a tad dry, but I did notice a glow. Here is how my face looked just after applying the moisturizer.

Though the results are satisfactory, it was quite a hassle to remove it. So, I would rarely try this.

Pros of VLCC Gold Peel-Off Mask:

  • Affordable.
  • Easily available.
  • Nice fragrance.
  • Good effects.

Cons of VLCC Gold Peel-Off Mask:

  • Not easy to spread.
  • Bad packaging.
  • Huge hassle to take it off the skin.
  • Makes the skin dry.

IMBB Rating:

2/5.

  1. Hey Aparajita,

I was trying to find reviews for the VLCC product and I came across your blog. Just wanted to ask where you are based out of. I see that you reviewed the Ponds gold radiance youthful night repair. I have read reviews that say not so good things about this product. So was just wondering if maybe countrywise it makes a difference. For example when I use the sunsilk shampoo from kuwait my hair is so soft and wonderful, but the ones available in India hardly make a difference. In fact I am still searching for an over the counter shampoo which will make my frizzy hair smooth. Bangalore is dry on top of that and I have more frizz
