Hope you all are hale and hearty! I am having a good time, experimenting with new makeup and trends, and gearing up for my cousin’s shaadi! The great Indian wedding series, as you may call it. So besides makeup, my mom and I invested in different skincare products. For my mother’s mature skin, I got the VLCC anti-ageing range, out of which I have already reviewed VLCC Anti-Ageing Vitalift Serum and VLCC Nourishing Day Cream SPF-25. Today I will review VLCC Hydrating Anti-Ageing Night Cream. Keep reading people.
VLCC Hydrating Anti Ageing Night Cream – 50gm is a natural anti-wrinkle, nourishing cream checks premature ageing of skin. Its regular usage helps in reducing the appearance of wrinkles and preserves the elasticity of skin. Leaves skin naturally refreshed and clear Exfoliates the dead skin and even tones your skin.
INR 399 for 50 gm
The tub packaging is similar to the day cream, but thankfully the label didn’t get removed with the seal. I find it unhygienic, but otherwise the white and pink tub is easy to carry and travel friendly. There is absolutely no chance of product leakage. The outer label bears the product details. The tub came enclosed in a hot pink and white cardboard box.
My Experience with VLCC Hydrating Anti-Ageing Night Cream:
This cream is pearly white in color, and extremely smooth in texture. In fact, it has a thick, buttery consistency which makes it easy to massage and absorb. Its pleasant smell relaxes the senses, and stays on for some time before fading. I feel it’s a neutral scent, but not very overpowering in nature, hence won’t bother sensitive noses much.
Coming to the efficacy of the product, I find it quite nourishing and hydrating. It is non-greasy yet makes skin soft and supple. The cream is enriched with almond and olive and imparts a boost of moisture to skin.
It claims to tighten skin and stimulate collagen synthesis. Well, I can’t comment on these claims as my mom doesn’t have wrinkles as such, but I find it does impart some firmness to the jaw line and the forehead. That also depends on the massage technique, as a good massage boosts circulation and helps in cell renewal.
All said and done, my skin hasn’t reacted badly to this nourishing cream, and I feel my skin remains soft for around 10 hours or so ( I have normal skin around this time). My mother who has dry skin could feel the softness for around 6 hours, or till the early morning. But extreme dry skin will not find it sufficient.
Being non-sticky and non-oily, dry skinned beauties can use it as a base for makeup too. I hope you know by now that a well moisturized face helps in blending and setting the makeup better.
Overall, I feel this is a good hydrating night cream, however it doesn’t show any miraculous effects on skin.
Pros of VLCC Hydrating Anti-Ageing Night Cream:
• Travel friendly
• Spreads and blends easily
• Gets absorbed soon; non greasy
• Leaves skin soft and supple
• Firming effect on certain areas
Cons of VLCC Hydrating Anti-Ageing Night Cream:
• Tub packaging
• Doesn’t work for very dry skin
Would I Repurchase/Recommend VLCC Hydrating Anti-Ageing Night Cream?
I would recommend, but given the loads of options I might give into the temptation of buying newer creams.
