VLCC Natural Sciences Daily Protect Mango Lip Balm Review

VLCC Natural Sciences Daily Protect MANGO Lip Balm

Hello Beauties!

Till now you all might have known that I am obsessed with perfumes, deodorants and body mists. My obsession list is definitely incomplete without the mention of lip balms. I am so crazy for them that I have one of them along with me every time where ever I go. I keep one beside my pillow 24×7, one on my computer table, one in my bag/clutch, one on my office desk. No chance of missing it. I can forget to put money in my purse but I will never forget to keep my lip balm. I have to apply this after eating or drinking anything else I feel my lips dry and stretchy. I have used lip balms from almost all the brands like Boots, Burt’s Bees, Clinique, TBS, Maybelline, Lakme, Nivea, Lotus, Jovees, Himalaya, Vaseline etc etc. This is the latest brand addition to my list.

The one which I will be reviewing here is from VLCC Natural Sciences. I just bought because of its flavor… mmmm MANGO..

mango lipbalm

My experience with the product:
I was so very happy while buying this just because it was of mango flavor but it turned out to be the biggest disappointment for me when I opened the packaging. The lip balm was of deep sunset yellow color which was the biggest turn off. I mean how a company can prepare a lip balm with the hint of yellow color to it. Have you ever seen anyone wearing a yellow lip color/gloss… 😮
The smell was the second. It was nowhere close to being like mango smell but in turn it was some weird smell of pineapple and some other fruits. Then I thought of trying it on my lips. There it gave me some sort of relief. It glided on smoothly on my lips without making them heavy and sticky. Even on two threes wipes it did not make my lips yellow. It just left them with a sheen which was ok. There was no flavor and smell after the application on lips. It made my lips soft on the very first application and then I thought ok I can use it, not outdoors but indoors I can happily use this. This stayed on my lips for about 1-1.5 hours and after that I had to swipe the lip balm again on my lips. Now I will quickly sum up the positives and negatives of this.

Mango flavoured lip balm vlcc

Pros:
Nice packaging
Contains three types of butters (shea, cocoa and mango)
Contains SPF
Neither heavy nor sticky, gooey on lips
Makes lips smooth after very first application
Very easy on the pocket

vlcc lip balm

Cons:
Yellow color was the biggest turn off for me. It will make your lips look like pale yellow quantity if you swipe it more that once or twice.
Average staying power

Final Verdict: As far as my opinion is concerned I will not repurchase it because I was highly disappointed with its yellow color. I really want to go and bawl at that SA at Health & Glow who assured me that this is very good and insisted me head over heels to buy this. I literally would ask her the next time when I visit the store that “Is a yellow colored lip balm worth buying?” moron.. 😛
