VLCC Nourishing Day Cream with SPF 25 Review

Hey IMBBians!
I got a day cream for my mother, who prefers using them instead of sunscreens if she is at home or outdoors for some time. Aroma Magic Vitamin C Day Cream was a great product, but keeping in mind that my mom is in her fabulous forties, I got her this day cream from VLCC. The Vitalift serum is working well on her skin, and this day cream seemed like a perfect partner. Let’s see how it fared.

VLCC Nourishing Day Cream with SPF 25

Price: Rs. 405 for 50 gm

Product Description:
VLCC Nourishing Day Cream is a unique formulation which firms & tightens the skin along with a sunscreen benefit of SPF 25. Along with Almond and Crowberry extracts, vitamin rich oils of Wheat germ and Olive revitalize the skin by delivering in-depth cellular nourishment. Exotic plant extract helps prevent the formation of free radicals, lipid peroxidation and development of advanced glycation end-products. Crowberry improves skin firmness, elasticity and protects the skin’s extracellular matrix.

My Experience with VLCC Nourishing Day Cream with SPF 25:

Packaging: It comes in a tub like package, which is rather tall than wide. The tub was labelled with a big seal which held the details, so when you remove the seal, you tear apart the whole label leaving only the blank white tub. Anyway I retained the pink and white outer cardboard box which held the details of the day cream.

The cream is pearly white in color and is rather thick. In fact, I would have loved the texture had it been more buttery like the Aroma Magic Vitamin C Day Cream, which gets absorbs into skin in seconds. However, it is smooth and not very greasy like some other creams.

Since it’s targeted at mature skin, I expected it to be hydrating. But honestly, it disappears soon, leaving a fairer looking skin but feels stretchy. While it is good for normal skin, I feel people in their thirties or forties tend to have drier skin, which would benefit from better hydration and long staying softness.
The fragrance is mild and not bothersome. The mattifying fairness is good for my normal-combination skin, and the SPF 25 offers decent sun protection. Vey less quantity is needed, as a little can spread evenly on skin.
I feel it defeats the purpose of getting a day cream in such less moisturization, since a sunscreen provides greater shield against UV.
