My Experience with this VLCC Oil Free Sunscreen Gel SPF 15 PA+

I have tried tons of sunscreens available in the market. But sadly I found most of them to be too heavy for my oily combination skin. Some made my face terribly oily, some other broke me out. So I am always in search of a good sunscreen. Last summer my skin was behaving crazily with severe acne and break out. At that time this sunscreen gel was recommended by VLCC skin expert during my visit to the salon. I have been using this product regularly since then and I am very satisfied with the results it provides.

The product comes in colorful yellow-orange tube packaging with flip open cap which shuts tightly, very easy to use and hygienic. The first thing that I liked about this product is its smell. Not at all overpowering, very pleasant and refreshing, gives perfect summery feel and lingers for 2-3 hours after application. The product itself is a transparent gel, not too thick, just perfect consistency. It spreads effortlessly and takes 1-2 minute time to get absorbed completely. It feels very light weight and does not make skin look or feel sticky, greasy or oily even if more than the required amount is applied, which is a great plus point in these hot summer days. Once it is absorbed, it leaves face supple and oil free and prevents excess sweating too. It doesn’t make my regular bb or cc cream application difficult.

But since it is a mattifying product, I always make sure to moisturize my skin before applying this product. I don’t have to spend much time in the sun normally. So SPF 15 PA+ just get the job done for me. But ladies who stay out for a longer period of time, may find this SPF rating too low to stay protected. Though frequent reapplication is recommended for longer sun protection, I still could not figure out how to do that without messing up my base makeup and kohl-ed eyes. Any suggestion ladies?

Cons of VLCC Oil Free Sunscreen Gel SPF 15 PA+

2. Only SPF 15 PA+. Can’t provide long lasting protection against sun.
3. Product gets accumulated and hardened near the opening of the tube.

  1. Even I wanna know how to reapply every 2hours when we are outside and dont wanna spoil the makeup.
As for now what I do is use lakme compact with spf after every 3-4hrs so that it keeps skin fresh and matte and also gives sun protection.
    Any other ideas??? *specs*

  2. Hey… Nice review… Try out lotus sunscreens… They have spf 40,50,60 … Upto 100 i think with mattifying effect. Also lakme has come up with spf50 sunscreen, both hydrating and mattifying ones

  3. Also use something like peter thomas roth or bare minerals spf powder… PTR is talc free… Very good for reapplication

  4. I think spf 15 would be too low for such hot summers *headbang* *headbang* but i love such gels… i think i will get some gel with more spf *happy dance* *happy dance*
