My Experience with VLCC Specifix Professional Renourish Oil Control Mask:

VLCC Specifix Professional Renourish Oil Control Mask comes packaged in pure white coloured tube which houses all the details about the product, including product description and ingredient list in English. The tube has a broad sab-green band on the top of it, which gives it a different look packaging-wise. It comes with a white-coloured cap which closes tightly with a light click. The closure cap is leakage proof.

It is actually quite convenient and hygienic to use since it comes in a tube like form rather than in a tub like form. You just have to carefully squeeze out the product from the tube to avoid any unwanted wastage. It comes in a 200 g tube and retails for Rs 399 which is great at this price point. The packaging looks quite bulky in size even for the 200 g size, so it might be a bit troublesome for travel-purposes. Overall, I love the colour-themed packaging and its sturdiness. It is simple but it is pretty.

The ‘Renourish Oil Control Mask’ has a cream-based texture. It is off-white in colour and the consistency is thick. Since the consistency is more on the thicker side, it is very easy to control the product flow and it will prevent unwanted spillage. It is enriched with wheat germ oil and tomato seeds.

The texture is very smooth and creamy and it spreads on the face very easily. The formulation is cream based and hence it does not leave the skin feeling tight. The formula is light-weight and does not cause any discomfort. It has no significant fragrance, but if you take a close sniff, you will get a fresh and refreshing smell, which I feel will not bother anyone with sensitive noses. I need about 2-3 coin-sized pumps to cover my entire face. I apply it using a pack brush to get the job done more uniformly. Sometimes, I also apply it on my neck.

This mask claims to refresh the skin and control excessive sebum secretion. Now coming to the efficacy of this mask, firstly, it suited my skin well. It did not sting or irritate my skin. It doesn’t feel sticky or stretchy. I have used it for a month and have noticed some visible changes. It is enriched with all natural extracts of wheat germ oil and tomato seeds which are really good for skin. Wheat germ oil contains Vitamin E which will enrich the skin with a healthy glow without leaving your skin dry and tomato can work wonders for acne and pimple prone skin.

This pack works well and tugs out all the dirt and impurities from the pores to reveal clearer complexion. It leaves my skin squeaky clean. It removes dullness and redness caused by heat allergy easily. I believe these claims made by this pack are true. It also performs decently in soothing my skin and brings back the much needed freshness.

It helps in shrinking the pore size and improving the texture of the skin. This claim made by the product in refinement of skin is true. It makes my pore areas cleaner and smoother. My face felt soft and supple. It provides a decent amount of hydration to the skin without making my skin oily. It doesn’t dry out my combination skin so I feel you really don’t need to follow up with a moisturiser.

Now coming to the major claim of this product as an oil controlling mask. Does it perform well? My skin looks pretty much matte with a nice glow on it. However, this matte look lasts only for a few hours; by the end of the day my skin is oily again. As far as its effect on acne is concerned, this did not clear them out completely, but helped in controlling sebum concentration at T-zone and forehead areas. I used it five days in a row and my acne condition was in control.

This pack also helped in a good detoxification process and helped to purify my skin. I did not develop any sudden breakouts due to the harsh weather. Redness, sunburns were also in check. The only thing that I am disappointed with it is the oil control period. My face stays matte only for a few hours. But at this price tag I can’t complain. I would have been happy if my face remained shine free throughout the day. It also claims to slow down the process of ageing, but at this point I can’t comment on this.

You really don’t need to visit beauty salons when you can get such luxurious skin treatments at the comfort of your home. The size of the tube is quite big and this will last me really long. Economically, this favours me as well. The best part of it is that it is free from use of parabens so it will not harm me in the long run.

Overall, I am really happy with this product. The only thing that I am not much impressed with is the longevity of results. It stays just for a few hours and then the matte effect goes away. So, you have to keep using it regularly. As a professional product, it is decent and can be given a try.
