VLCC Wheat Protein Hair Conditioner

VLCC Wheat Protein Hair Conditioner

Hey Girls,

VLCC Wheat Protein Hair Conditioner

Over the last few days, we had seen the sensational posts and talks about the harmfulness of silicones and sulphates in shampoos, conditioners and serums. Immediately, I went hunting for silicon and sulphate-free conditioners as I already had a shampoo free from these hazardous chemicals.

I found this VLCC Wheat Protein Hair Conditioner from the online stores and did a quick pick. I didn’t find them in the Health and Glow stores in Chennai. : (

Let’s see what it claims and how it worked out for me.

Wheat Protein Hair Conditioner

Product Description:

A special blend of herbs that conditions & detangles the hair. An effective formulation with Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein and Fenugreek Extracts, works on split ends, leaves hair soft, smooth & lustrous. Provides special care to protect against daily aggression.

Ingredients:

Hydrolyzed wheat protein, D-Panthenol, Polyquaternium, climbazole, Henna and Fenugreek extracts.

Price:

Rs. 95 for 100 ml.

My Experience with VLCC Wheat Protein Hair Conditioner:

Firstly the packaging, it comes in a white tube with a blue flip-open cap. It has a small nozzle to squeeze out the product. The packing is leak proof and travel friendly.  The conditioner is a white creamy one with a mild herbal fragrance.  I could not make out the exact smell to mention here, but I liked it.

The consistency is neither running nor thick. It is creamy, but not very much.  I used this conditioner after shampooing with the VLCC Soya Protein Shampoo.  I liked the shampoo for the smell and the shine it adds to my hair.  Now, this conditioner joins the club.

Wheat Protein Hair Conditioner

I had heard from my granny that fenugreek seeds make good conditioners making your hair soft and full of life. During my school days, I had used fenugreek paste (soak fenugreek in water overnight and grind it in a mixer for the paste) to add nourishment and shine. I have all good words for the fenugreek paste, but washing it off completely was a tough job!

This conditioner does all the wonders of nourishment, adds shine and luster, and contains the extracts of henna, fenugreek and wheat protein extracts.

Wheat Protein Hair Conditioner

After washing my hair with the conditioner, I felt my hair turned soft and smooth, with a healthy look and shine.  Though it did not give extravagant hydration like the Herbal Essence conditioners, I am glad it did not make my hair dry and dull, rather!

As the product claims for split end treatment, I did not find any great result.

What I Like about VLCC Wheat Protein Hair Conditioner:

  • Silicon and sulphate free.
  • Creamy texture and thick consistency.
  • All goodness of fenugreek and wheat protein.
  • Reasonably priced.

What I Do Not Like about VLCC Wheat Protein Hair Conditioner:

  • It doesn’t work on split ends.

Will I Repurchase VLCC Wheat Protein Hair Conditioner?

Yes.

Final Verdict on VLCC Wheat Protein Hair Conditioner:

Overall, I like it for the special reason, fenugreek, henna extracts and no silicon and sulphates.

  2. thanks for the review. this is so useful. after the articles on SLS &nsilicones I was really trying to hunt for checmical free shampoos/conditioners and you have certainly helped with this review. shall pick this up for sure the next time. I have not had the greatest luck with VLCC skincare but the hair care might be well a worth a try.

  3. Thank u for the review. I was actually looking for chemical free products…………After reading all the articles about silicones and parabens I checked my 9 month old daughters johnson’s baby cream and was shocked to see that it even contained silicone and parabens…..I dont know what to trust and what not

  4. Rama, are you sure about the ingredients? As the tube doesn’t have the full list of ingredients… all these ‘herbal products’ companies like Himalaya and VLCC etc don’t mention the complete list of ingredients.. only so called ‘Key Ingredients’! Even the pic of the tube shows they have mentioned key ingredients only… Just wondering! :O

    1. Hey Aparna,
I did check the websites and i don’t find any harsh chemicals as ingeridnts..so i believe this is all safe to use 🙂

  5. wowwww ever since I read Sahar’s posts on Silicones and Sulphates on the lookout for such pure products

  6. rama most companies don’t list the full ingredients and this also mention the key ingredients only. 😐 But as a product it sounds pretty awesome. Glad it worked for you. 🙂

  7. I bought this product just today because I too was looking for a silicon free conditioner. Glad to see the good review- hope it works for me too.
I couldn’t make out the smell either, but it was nice. The Soya Protein Shampoo is next on my shopping list. I’m just waiting to finish off the remaining Dove shampoo (and Dove has silicon).
