Directions For Use:

Remove silver clip to unlock the pump. Spray generously and evenly onto wet hair before heat styling. Use a brush to blow dry from roots to ends.

My Experience with VO5 Heat Protect Styling Spray:

I have been using this heat protect styling spray for the last month or so and I am quite happy with it. I was browsing the hair products’ section at Boots recently, trying to look for a reasonably-priced heat-protect spray, when I came across this.

Until I got this one, I was using a heat defence cream by L’Oreal, which I wasn’t too happy with. The cream felt heavy and sticky and it wasn’t easy to apply and work with. I wanted a spray that I could quickly and evenly spray into my hair and comb through before applying heat. This one seemed to fit the bill.

For one, the pink bottle looked cute. Apart from that, I am really impressed with the locking system on the bottle. It locks and unlocks very easily and efficiently, making it so easy to travel with. Despite containing 200 ml of product, this bottle isn’t heavy either.

Speaking of the product, I am quite impressed with it. So far, I have only used it with my flat iron and I quite like the results. I spray the product evenly into my hair (avoiding the roots) and run my Tangle Teezer through my hair. I start using the flat iron afterwards. I find that this banishes frizz and flyaways to a remarkable degree, which are otherwise so common after heat treatment. It also definitely makes the process of styling quicker and easier, not letting the iron snag or drag across the hair. It also has a nice, pleasant fragrance to it. Most importantly, the hair looks and feels smooth, soft and shiny once I am done with the heat treatment.

This can also be used on the hair before using the hair dryer and it offers protection up to 230 degrees Celsius, which is pretty decent.

Overall, I think that this is great heat-defence product and it won’t let you down.

However, to avoid long-term damage, it is best to limit heat styling of hair to as little as possible (despite having the best of heat defence products at your disposal).

Well, like all heat defence products, this one also contains a bunch of chemicals and can only do so much to protect your hair from the damaging effects of the heat (in the long run, especially), so it’s best not to use it too often.

My Verdict on VO5 Heat Protect Styling Spray:

An excellent heat defence product at a good price. This one certainly won’t let you down!
