VOV Candy Water Shine Lip Gloss – Review and Swatches
After my mood was down due to the horrible Avon gloss, Natasha had kindly suggested a way out of the lumpy and clumpy liquid. She said – “I gave up on glosses more than a year ago. now I only use clear glosses in tube form over my lipsticks” and the idea struck me as one that I can really put to practice. So I got myself a clear gloss with just a dust of sparkles from VOV. This is the first time for me to experiment with something like this, so I decided not to go for anything too expensive, and the 7 ml VOV Candy Water Shine lip gloss seemed the perfect solution at Rs 75 only.
The clear gloss is glycerine like in thickness and its texture is syrupy smooth. The smell is very mild and the taste is only slightly sweet. It is not sticky (I was afraid that it would be, since it is sweet and syrupy) and most important, it does not make me lick off the gloss as soon as I apply it. The liquid is speckled with a little bit of sparkles that catch the eye but not in a disco light sort of way. It is quite decent actually, just adding to the lustre of the gloss.
The profile of the VOV Candy Water Shine lip gloss is like this –
- Manufactured under the license of VOV
- Marketed by VOV
- Contains – tiny glitter particles to add to the glaze of the gloss
- Quantity – 7 ml
- Price – Rs 75
Let us discuss the points that make the VOV Candy Water Shine lip gloss likable to me –
the price. 7 ml for Rs 75 is cheap
the glaze and the tiny glitter particles. They do not make the lips obscenely disco light-ish sparkly, yet highlight the glossiness
it stays for quite long, as long as we do not eat something or lick it off
just a faintest trace of smell
the taste is mildly sweet
Now the not so happy things about the VOV Candy Water Shine lip gloss –
it is a ‘not so elite’ beauty product. So you cannot expect too good quality of more expensive glosses
a tad bit syrupy, that makes me want to lick it off as soon as I put it on
the applicator wand is a little fuzzy
Now here are some looks I tried out with the VOV Candy Water Shine lip gloss, combining with other lip products as Natasha originally suggested –
First with the glazy Oriflame Hydra Comfort Mocha Magic (just the colour on the left and with the gloss on the right)
This colour is already glossy, so did not make much noticeable difference in combination with the gloss.
Then with Avon Simply Pretty Mango Mania (just the colour on the left and with the gloss on the right):
This one is a creamy, smooth lipstick, which I like individually also a lot, and the look with the lip gloss is even better.
And also with Lakme Clasics Very Sherry (just the colour on the left and with the gloss on the right):
Very Sherry is a matt shade, which turned vivacious with the magic touch of the gloss. I liked the end result very much.
And in the end, this is the one which I will be encouraging everyone to try once – just the gloss over your lip balm. I am using it over my The Body Shop Born Lippy Raspberry lip balm.
Overall verdict – Thank You Natasha
