Skin tone: Medium to dusky
I easily get swayed by eye-catching packaging. I love pretty things and out-of-the-box designs. So, I made one such impulse purchase and ended up buying the Africa Multi Bronzing Powder by W7 Cosmetics. Let’s see whether it is a “BUY” or “BYE”.
Price: Rs.244 for 8g
Africa is one of our square boxed products. A pink blusher with bronzing highlights mixed throughout.
Apply to apples of cheeks and up along cheekbones.
My Experience with W7 Africa Multi Bronzing Face Powder:
The packaging of this bronzer is just Wow. I would say that, with its cardboard box packaging, it is a dead-on dupe packaging in comparison to Benefit Hoola Bronzing Powder and blushes. It is such a pretty packaging with the ingredients list and other details at the back of the box. There is also a small brush inside the box, which is also similar to Benefit Cosmetics brush. The brush is actually super soft and good. Normally, brushes which come with the products are rarely usable but I actually really like this brush. This brush is perfect for bronzing and contouring.
The Bronzing Powder itself is inspired by Africa and is set in a Tiger/Leopard print, which is a really pretty design. Altogether, there are three shades in the powder, a dark brown-grey shade which looks like a black, a light brown bronze shade and a vibrant pink shade, all with bits of shimmer running through them.
Though they have three different shades, the pink and the brown almost look similar and look like a medium pink when swatched separately, and the dark grey doesn’t play a part since it’s lesser in quantity. Though these can be used as individual shades, I feel it’s a bit difficult to use it that way and it is better to be used together. Once swirled, with the provided brush, on all the powders together, I got a very pale pink shade with a noticeable shimmer. So, this is more like a blush than a bronzer; at least for my dusky skin tone. The pale skin toned beauties may try this as a bronzer but still, I doubt that.
I feel that it is a blush with a highlighter, and I don’t like shimmery cheek products. I am more of a matte person with regard to face products and so I would say that I am not a fan of this one either. The pigmentation of this product is pretty average. It gives a very subtle color payoff with lots of shimmers. It just looks like a blush topper on my dusky skin tone and I could hardly see any color when I blended it and I was left with shimmers.
I think the color may show more on fair skin toned ladies. The staying power of this product is also pretty average which is around 4 hours.
Overall, this is more like a blush topper or can also be used as a highlighter. I don’t really like this, as I am not a fan of glitters and I don’t shimmer in my face products.
