W7 In The City Natural Nudes Eye Colour Palette Review3

Price: 4.99 AUD for 7g
Product Description:
W7’s In The City eye shadow palette contains 6 powdered matte eye shadow shades. This mini palette contains the perfect combination of pink nude tones to light browns.
The colours provide excellent coverage as they are highly pigmented and provide little fallout. Apply with or without a primer – these eyeshadows are not prone to creasing.
Due to its sturdy, metal tin, In The City can be slipped into a handbag or luggage without the risk of damage when out and about. The convenient sizing means it could even be put in a clutch or evening bag.
In The City is perfect for the girl who loves to keep it natural.
W7 tip: Use the shade “Wigwam” – apply it to the inner corners of the eye for highlighting.

My Experience with W7 In The City Natural Nudes Eye Colour Palette:

W7 In The City Natural Nudes Eye Colour Palette Review

W7 Cosmetics offers a variety of eyeshadow palettes at the most affordable rates. I chose a neutral eyeshadow palette called as “In the city“ as it was small and cute and it had a matte brown shade. There was no tester available for this palette so, I chose this one by just seeing the colours at the back of the palette and honestly, I should say that it was the biggest mistake I ever made!

Packaging: The eyeshadow palette comes in a small grey color tin packaging just like other W7 palettes. This one does not contain a brush or a mirror. The packaging is cute but, it could have been better if it came with a mirror.

Shades: This palette contains 6 matte shades suitable for a neutral everyday eye makeup look.
Wigwam: It is a pale Champagne colour, which can be used as a highlighter.
Troy: It looks like a light orange nude colour on the back of the tin, but when swatched, it looked like a pearl white colour.
Brass: It looks like a light brown shade at the back of the palette, but when swatched, it looked like the shade Troy.
Touch: This shade looks like a proper brown shade on the tin, (this was the reason I bought this palette) but this shade also looks like a greyish cream colour when swatched.
Autumn: It is a light greyish brown colour.
Andrea: It is a dark charcoal grey shade.
So, almost the first 4 out of the 6 colours look almost similar when swatched and the matte brown which I was looking for was not available. The colours look totally different from what it appears on the back side of the tin. I am really disappointed with the shades.

Texture and Pigmentation: The pigmentation of this palette is average and not that great. All the shades are matte which is good, but all the colours are powdery and chalky. As they are very chunky, it does not blend well and looks very cheap on the eyelids. There is a hell lot of powder fallouts in the palette which makes it very messy.

Staying Power: The staying power is very poor. It stays for almost 3 hours with an eye primer and after that, it creases and settles into fine lines. Thus, this palette is a total miss! Most of the shades are similar; are chalky and chunky; does not blend well and staying power is very poor. I am totally disappointed with this product.

Pros of W7 In The City Natural Nudes Eye Colour Palette:

Cons of W7 In The City Natural Nudes Eye Colour Palette:

  • Shades are similar.
  • Very chalky.
  • Does not blend well.
  • Poor staying power.
  • No Mirror or Brush.
