Watermelon and Strawberry Face Scrub – Do It Yourself

Watermelon and Strawberry Face Scrub – Do It Yourself

Hello Everyone,

I hope everyone is doing well.  I am back with yet another DIY (do it yourself) and this time I have come up with a face and body scrub with which your skin will look more glowing and younger.  Watermelon is very useful for removing blemishes on the skin and an excellent source of anti-oxidants. It’s also rich in vitamin A, B and C which keeps the skin fresh, radiant, hydrated and the acids in the fruit acts as exfoliants.  Strawberry has a high content of alpha hydroxyl acids and helps in treating acne as it is rich in salicylic acid too. Did you ever know that strawberries have more vitamin C than citrus fruits! These pretty little berries do more than just looking pretty to our eyes and plates.  They clear up acne, oiliness, make skin younger, smoother.  They also whiten teeth, reduce under eye puffiness, and do so much more.

So, let’s get started and not waste any more time to make this scrub and to feel what wonders it does to the skin 🙂

Shelf Life:

4 to 5 days (in the refrigerator).

Ingredients Required:

Strawberry Face Pack

  • 4 pieces of watermelon.
  • 3 strawberries.
  • 2 table spoons of rice powder (a little coarse and not finely ground).  You can use oatmeal instead of rice powder if your skin is very sensitive.
  • 1 table spoon honey (I have used old honey).

Procedure:

1. Chop the watermelon and strawberries into small pieces.

2. Mash the pieces with the help of a spoon/fork or if you are lazy like me, blend them and make a paste.

Strawberry Juice

3. Add 1 tsp of honey or more if your skin is too dry, as honey hydrates the skin really well and mix it.

4. Then, add 1 tsp of rice powder (as it will not get dissolved).  I didn’t have rice powder, so I blended rice and make powder of it. If you find rice powder is too hard for your skin, you can substitute it with oatmeal.

Strawberry Scrub

Now, the freshly homemade watermelon and strawberry face and body scrub is ready.

Watermelon Face Scrub

Take the required quantity and spread all over as I did here.  I spread the scrub all over the back of my hand and let it dry for about 15 minutes and so.

After that, rinse it out with water and pat dry your skin and you will see a glow on your skin and also will feel that the skin is much softer and hydrated as well.

If you end up eating this mixture, I guess you will not have any scrub to apply 😛
