Whilst facial pores are essential and provide our skin with room to breathe and produce oil, they may sometimes look unaesthetic and clogged. Therefore, to reduce their appearance and minimize them permanently, today, I am back with some amazing tips and tricks. Stay tuned!
1. Salicylic acid:
Salicylic acid is lipophilic, meaning that it can penetrate deep into oily skin to clean pores effectively from within, thus, minimizing their size and appearance on your skin’s surface. Also, salicylic acid helps to reduce sebum production in your pores which make it apt for people suffering from acne and pimples as well.
Retinoid is available both in oral and topical form and helps to reduce oil secretions from your sebaceous glands which in turn make your pores look smaller. However, you should consult your doctor and dermatologist before starting the treatment so as to know whether you are allergic to it and that it does not mess up with your other medications.
3. Laser surgery:
If your pores are exceptionally big and prominent, you may want to opt for laser treatment to shrink them permanently. Laser treatments work by inducing collagen remodeling and works especially well in reducing acne scars and big crater like pores on your skin’s surface. However, remember to consult only a well-trained and experienced technician so as to enjoy a hassle-free experience and achieve best results.
4. Tri-chloro-acetic acid treatment:
It is a simple technique which helps in delivering superior results. All you have to do is, apply tri-chloro-acetic acid directly on your open pores using a toothpick so as to minimize and conceal them. After some days, you will notice that your pores have formed a black scab on them. Fret not ladies, these scabs will fall off themselves and leave your skin smooth and pore-free.
Clearlift is a pore tightening technique which is quick, painless and highly effective. Also, it can be done in a matter of 15 minutes and works by penetrating deep into your skin to stimulate the production of collagen which plumps up your skin, tightens it and shrinks the size of your pores.
6. Ice cubes:
Ice improves the blood circulation inside your facial blood vessels resulting in smaller and closed skin pores. Apart from shrinking pores, ice cubes help in fighting off skin inflammation, redness and sunburns making it the best choice for ladies who have a sensitive skin type.
7. Baking soda:
Baking soda balances the pH level of your skin and also gets rid of dirt, debris and excess oil from your skin’s surface. Being a powerful exfoliating agent, it also gets rid of any dead cells present on the topmost layer of your skin and reveals a radiant complexion.
8. Witch hazel and tea tree:
Witch hazel is a natural astringent which helps in tightening skin pores and controlling the production of oil in your sebaceous glands. Along with this, it works like a charm to treat and prevent pimples and warding off acne. On the other hand, tea tree works well to cleanse and close open pores owing to its antiseptic and anti-fungal properties.
9. Fuller’s earth:
Popularly known as Multani Mitti in India, fuller’s earth works by absorbing excess oil from your pores and, thus, cleansing and closing them to give you a bright complexion and clear skin.
Rubbing a slice of lemon near your nose and cheeks works wonder to close open pores as the natural enzymes and Vitamin C present in this citrusy fruit work like a charm on skin pores and tightens them like nobody’s business.
