My Take on Wella System Professional Repair Mask:

I had pretty good hair till a few years back, but frequent hair coloring, straightening, blow drying and lack of good care took a hefty toll on my hair leaving them badly damaged. I took some 4-5 sessions of hair spa at the salon, but that didn’t help much; just showed temporary results. So, I got myself a few hair masks from different brands instead of spending my money on exorbitant hair spa sessions.

Wella System Professional Repair Mask

So, coming to Wella repair mask, which was recommended by a friend of mine, I haven’t really tried much from this brand, but have read decent reviews about its products. The mask comes housed in a square-shaped, bulky plastic jar, with a screw off purple lid. There is another thin plastic lid which covers the mouth of the jar. The packaging is just average and could have been a little better I feel as I prefer products in tube packaging over jars/tubs.

The hair mask has a lovely, pleasant fragrance which stays on for a little while even after rinsing out.  It has a thick, creamy, almost balm-like consistency, but it does spread through easily without much effort on towel-dried hair.  It is indicated that it should be left for 5 minutes, but I prefer to let it stay on my hair for about 15 minutes and I cover my hair with a shower cap.  I have observed that with most hair masks, that the longer you keep them on, better would be the results.

This hair mask does make my dry/damaged hair extremely soft, supple and adds shine/glossiness too. I don’t need to detangle much, the comb just runs through the hair without any effort. I also like it for the fact that it does not weigh down my hair or make them heavy/greasy. I believe it’s a fairly good hair mask and with continued usage, I did notice improvement in my hair texture and the damage did reduce. However, I didn’t see this working much on split ends. I guess the only way out to get rid of split ends is to get your hair trimmed once in a month and that’s what I have been doing now.

Wella System Professional Repair Mask

The tub lasted me for about 3-4 months, when used thrice a week. It could have lasted me longer, but I used it instead of a conditioner each time I washed my hair. I am sure it will last you a really long time if you use it once a week.

Overall, I do like this hair mask and it has managed to impress me, so I may repurchase it once I have finished the current lot of hair masks I have.  It’s worth a try if you have dry/damaged hair.

Summing up:

What I Like about Wella System Professional Repair Mask:

  • Makes my dry hair extremely soft.
  • Adds shine.
  • Has improved the hair texture.
  • Does not weigh down hair.
  • Leaves minimal amount of tangles.
  • Has a soft, pleasant fragrance.

What I Do Not Like about Wella System Professional Repair Mask:

  • Does not work on stubborn split ends.
  • Tub/jar type packaging.
  • It’s a little expensive I feel.
  • Limited availability.
  • Contains parabens.
