Wet n Wild Art in the Streets Color Icon Eyeshadow Palette Review

Hi everyone!

Today I am going to review a bold, bright pick for this summer, the Wet ‘n Wild Eyeshadow Palette in Art in the Streets. This is from their 5 Pan Color Icon Eyeshadow Palette launched in Spring 2014 and these are now a part of the permanent collection. Wet n wild has been my go-to brand in terms of experimenting. I really wanted to try these colours just to see how I would use them. For $3.99, you get a pretty sweet deal on these. Read on to see how I liked them.

Price: $3.99

Claims: Five amazing shades in one convenient package for an unbeatable price! Each eyeshadow palette features five distinct shades that can be mixed and matched to create a unique look for every style. From matte to ultra-shimmer, these long-lasting, highly pigmented formulas are satiny-smooth for crease resistant wear. Enriched with Macadamia Oil, each shadow provides continuous moisture that improves the appearance of the delicate eye area.

My Experience With Wet n Wild Art in the Streets Color Icon Eyeshadow Palette:

Packaging: These are in the standard Wet n wild packaging. Black bottom with a see-through lid and accompanied with two small brushes: a sponge tip one and another with bristles. These are useful to swatch and pack colour on. I never discard these because they always come in handy when my usual brushes are stained or saturated with other colours. The packaging is not the sturdiest, but all my Wet n Wild pans hold up while travelling. I’ve never had an issue with them breaking. The packaging feels very drugstore and I didn’t expect much anyway. With Wet n Wild, I know I am only paying for what’s inside.

Texture: I can’t talk about the texture without talking about the shades, so here we go! Wet n Wild shades usually come with a Browbone/Eyelid/Crease/Definer type shade. These have no such indicators as they are intended to be used as single colours. It’s up to you how you want to wear them. The shades are all matte with the slightest sheen to them. On my eyes, they look totally matte.

Shade: There are 5 shades in this. They are:

Orange: This shade is a beautiful, bright, sunset orange. This has truly excellent pigmentation with one swipe.

Purple: This is one of the lesser pigmented shades. This doesn’t come off like it does in the pan. You have to build it up.

Green: This is such a pretty, matte green. It’s reminds me of a mermaid colour. This also has good pigment to it.

Blue: This matte sky blue is my other favorite in this palette. It looks exactly like you’d expect and has top notch pigmentation.

Yellow: This has the least pigment out of all and has to be really built up over a primer to get good payoff.

The Blue and orange, even green don’t feel like they came from a $3.99 palette. They all blend really well and are definitely powdery. They do have a bit of fallout as well. I am not sure if you can see it in the looks/swatches.

For the swatches and looks, I DID NOT use a primer because I wanted to show the original shade and pigmentation. They can be built up and worn over primer/white eyeliner for best results.

Pros Of Wet n Wild Art in the Streets Color Icon Eyeshadow Palette:

● Pretty range of shades.
● Quite pigmented.
● Really inexpensive.
● Can create a wide range of looks.
● Lasts all day with primer.

Cons Of Wet n Wild Art in the Streets Color Icon Eyeshadow Palette:

● Needs primer.
● All shades are not made equally.
● Slightly powdery.
● Bits of fallout.

IMBB Rating: 3.5/5

I know these shades don’t work well together but they have some good potential for special parties and Halloween. A cute palette with some fun colours, this is a good buy if you want to add some fun colours without breaking the bank.
