Skin Tone: Medium Tanned
Wet n Wild has recently launched a few new eyeshadow quads with some great shades – I picked three of them! Today, I am going to share my views about the palette which is called “Petalette”. Now, let’s get into the details.
Our improved eyeshadow formula ups the ante on pigmentation with a mix of shimmery go-tos and matte transition shades to blend into the creases of your eyelids. Each shade glides on effortlessly and blends like a dream. We’ve taken out the guesswork by noting where to apply each hue.
Talc, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Ethyl Macadamiate, Boron Nitride, Dimethicone, Silica, Nylon-12, Magnesium Myristate, Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate, Polybutene, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Lauroyl Lysine, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Hexylene Glycol, o-Cymen-5-ol, Water/Eau, Tin Oxide, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Aluminum Hydroxide, [+/- (MAY CONTAIN/PEUT CONTENIR): Iron Oxides/CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499, Mica, Titanium Dioxide/CI 77891, Ultramarines/CI 77007].
My Experience with Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Quad Petalette:
Packaging: Wet n Wild Eyeshadow Quad comes in a very pretty black container with a clear lid. The palette does not come with any applicator or mirror, so it’s a bit disappointing. But at this price point, I can’t complain about anything. This palette is small, lightweight, and travel-friendly palette. I also like that they have mentioned the shades and how to apply. So, it is basically good for beginners to understand and they can easily create a look according to their description on the back of this container.
Shades and Pigmentation: Now, this palette has four shades and I like the combination of these shades. It actually has three shimmery shadows and one matte shadow. I also like that it contains a nice transition shade as well. This is a pink and wine-based palette, so all the shades have that pinky touch and I love it! Now, let’s describe the individual shades.
Transition: The top most shade is a beautiful natural n*de mauve shade. It is a pretty transition shade, but it will not show up on dark skin tones.
Brow Bone: This is a pretty shimmery iridescent white shade that actually has nice pink touch in it. It’s a beautiful highlighting shade as well.
Crease: “Next” is a beautiful dark wine shade with finely melted shimmers. This is basically a shade to use on crease, outer corners to define the eyes well. I love this color a lot.
Eyelid: This is a gorgeous baby pink shade to highlight the eye lid and it also has fine shimmers that add a nice glow.
Now, these shades are nicely pigmented and require a few swipes only. Dark wine shade is really pigmented and the transition shade as well. Only the pink and white shades are a bit less pigmented than the other two. They need more swipes to get the color actually.
Texture and Quality: All the shadows have a very soft and smooth texture that blends effortlessly on eyes. They never feel patchy or powdery and blend easily with a light hand. I love the smooth and even finish these shadows impart. The shimmer in these shadows do not look over the top and they they mix with each other well, and I get natural, silky application.
Thankfully, these shades don’t fall a lot and do not crease either. I really love the flawless finish I get and these shadows cover my lids perfectly in even strokes. Only the pink and white shadows have a tendency to create a layer on the palette and after a few uses, the layer comes off, and the shadows are then easy to use, but initially, they are quite difficult to take on with brush or fingers.
Staying Power: These colors stay nicely on my lids without creasing or creating a mess. They stay in place and survive a long day easily. They stay on for around 6 hours without any fading, but after that, due to my oily lids, they appear a bit faded. With primer, they last long and these shades are easy to remove as well.
Overall, I really like the shades and they look beautiful on my eyes. I can create a soft day look as well as a bold dark night look with this palette. The quality of the shadows is also nice, totally worth a buy at this price. I love this range of eyeshadows from Wet n Wild and it’s perfect for beginners to start with.
