Wet n Wild Color Icon Lip Liner Brandy Wine Review

One of the most heartening happenings for beauty maniacs was the launch of Wet n Wild in India. It’s affordable, it’s amazing and we can’t have enough of this USA-based brand. I picked up a super affordable lip liner pencil from the brand in the shade “Brandy Wine.”

My Experience with Wet n Wild Color Icon Lip Liner Brandy Wine:

Packaging: The packaging is the same as other Color Icon Pencils. The wooden pencil is a sharpenable one with a plastic cap that fits snugly in place and can be carried around. The pencil is quite long. For the price, the quantity provided is pretty huge! I totally love this easy-to-use lip liner which fits in my bags easily and is easy to sharpen.

“Brandy Wine” is a bold reddish brown shade with a metallic sheen. It is a merlot color which leans more towards brown. The shade is beautiful and wearable. The best thing is that it can be easily worn alone or paired with a wide variety of lipsticks. It works well with brick red, maroon, brown and plum lipsticks. The shade is easy to pull off, especially by Indian skin tones and perfect for the fall-winter season.

The pigmentation is great and maximum color is obtained in a single swipe. It does not tug and feels quite smooth and creamy. The soft texture might cause the tip to break with too much pressure. It feels almost weightless on lips. I find that I like it better when it is not sharpened to a fine tip and has a workable rounded tip.

I have dry lips (but not flaky) and do not need any exfoliation prior to application. People with flaky lips are recommended to exfoliate their lips. It might get slightly drying as the hours wear on, but with a touch of lip balm under this liner, it fares superbly. At the end of the day, it does not leave my lips dry at all and feels comfortable.

The staying power is great; it easily lasts for 6-7 hours with a lipstick on. I got 5+ hours of wear time with this alone. It leaves a nice stain, preventing a shabby look when I am out for long hours. It prevents my lipstick from bleeding and feathering and totally rocks as a lip liner.

Overall, I have no complaints from this amazing liner.
