Wet n Wild Glassy Gloss Poppy Glaze Lip Gel Review

I made a haul consisting mostly of wet n wild products. It’s really disheartening that they are not widely available in India yet; they are a steal for the price. Let’s see how this lip gloss fared.

My Experience With Wet N Wild Glassy Gloss Poppy Glaze Lip Gel:

The packaging is very pretty; a bright red colored tube with a screw cap. I feel that, the applicator is a bit tricky to work with. I chose this shade thinking that it is going to be the most pigmented gloss among the lot. But sadly, it is the least pigmented. It is almost sheer. I have hardly come across a much pigmented lip gloss so far, so no qualms over that.

The texture is not very heavy, but it does feel somewhat sticky on the lips. I don’t like wearing it often for this reason. I usually prefer lightweight lip products, and I hardly use glosses. If you wear glosses often, then you can consider this one’s texture as light lip gloss. Since I am not used to glosses, I judge this as slightly sticky. It goes almost sheer on the lips when worn alone; it would look great over a lipstick. If you have pigmented lips, then I doubt it is going to cover it up. If you layer it, then it might give a heavy feeling.

I got it at a fair discount and I cannot be happier! The quality is superb for the price. I like the mirror finish of this gloss. It gives a plumped up effect to the lips and make them look fuller. The shine lasts for about 1.5 hours after which it starts to decline and disappear, if you snack in between. It does transfer, but not at a high amount. If you drink something, then you can see parts of the gloss sticking to the cup. I find it very embarrassing. Some glosses give me trouble by bleeding and coming off the lip line, but this one, doesn’t have that problem.

It has a sweet smell to it, which fades away after sometime. It does not leave any tint behind, and keeps the lips nourished till it lasts. But after I completely wipe it off, I do feel my lips to have gone dehydrated but not dry or flaky. Lasting power is okay-ish, but for a gloss, I cannot complain. I think it is a steal for the price.

Pros of Wet N Wild Glassy Gloss Poppy Glaze Lip Gel :

• Pretty packaging.
• Travel-friendly.
• The formula is great. Not too heavy or light.
• It does not feel very heavy on lips unless layered.
• Has a nice sweet fragrance.
• Gives a lovely mirror shine to the lips.
• Makes lips appear fuller.
• Does not bleed.
• Reasonably priced.

• Keeps lips nourished till the gloss lasts. It does not dry out the lips either.

Cons of Wet N Wild Glassy Gloss Poppy Glaze Lip Gel :

• Lasting power could have been better.
• Applicator is slightly hard to work with. (At least for me, I’m not used to it!)
• Feels slightly sticky and heavy when layered.
• Not very pigmented. (not a con for me)

Would I Recommend/Re-purchase Wet N Wild Glassy Gloss Poppy Glaze Lip Gel?
I have two shades already and I might look into other shades after I use this up (which will be in the next millennium!). This is definitely a steal for the price and I totally recommend this to all gloss lovers. 🙂
