This is yet another lipstick review from me from Wet n Wild’s Silk Finish lipstick range. Read on for more details and swatches.

My Take on Wet n Wild Hot Red Silk Finish Lipstick:
I was very disappointed with the packaging. It is so filthy and clumsy that the very moment you open it, you feel as if the tube would break. The cap does not fit properly, the twisting movement is very fragile and every time I try to close the cap, I feel the lipstick would get stuck into the cap. I hate messy products and like my caps to be stain free. I know I should not be expecting too much from such an inexpensive product, but they should maintain some packaging standards.
Now coming to lipstick, “Hot Red” is a beautiful red shade. The texture is very smooth and creamy, the lipstick glides smoothly on the lips. There is a slight shine to the colour which is not very glossy – just the perfect amount of shine and perfect glow. There is mild medicinal scent to it, which I didn’t like, but then it faded away very quickly. My lips tend to remain dry and I need to apply lip balm very often, but this lipstick actually kept my lips hydrated. The only issue with this lipstick is that it transfers like crazy.
The color lasts decently for a few hours and needs re-application after drinks or meals. What I liked about this shade is that it left a beautiful red tint on my lips when I removed the lipstick.
Overall, one should not expect too much at such a price, but Wet n Wild needs to improve the packaging, at least make it more sturdy and stable.
Pros of Wet n Wild Hot Red Silk Finish Lipstick:

- Decent pigmentation.
- Hydrates lips.
- Staying power is decent.
- Leaves a beautiful stain when faded.
Cons of Wet n Wild Hot Red Silk Finish Lipstick:
- Poor packaging.
- Not travel friendly.
- Transfers very much.
Would I Repurchase/Recommend Wet n Wild Hot Red Silk Finish Lipstick?
Yes!! It’s very affordable and you can pick from a wide array of shades. I am not sure whether I will repurchase because I am very disappointed with the packaging.
