One of the liquid highlighters that I love to use every day for my makeup routine is by Cover FX. I absolutely love the shade and the finish of this product. It is easy to blend, its glitter particles stay intact and is long-lasting. I was looking for a liquid highlighter with the same features, but at a more affordable price. Recently a new “Lumi” range has been launched by Loreal which carries liquid and powder highlighters, but apparently they don’t have good reviews. So, I decided to go for a new launch by Wet n Wild. I thought that even if they fail to perform well, at least they won’t hurt my pocket too much.
Intense is the name of the game with this buildable liquid highlighter that delivers a multi-shimmer glow thanks to its shimmering pearl pigments. The hydrating formula is infused with powerhouses like Murumuru Seed Butter, Grapeseed Oil, and Vitamin E to help smooth out the skin’s texture. You’ll look radiant–even after a sleepless night.
My Experience with Wet n Wild MegaGlo Liquid Highlighter Halo, Goodbye:
The feature I love the most about liquid highlighters is that they can be mixed with the base makeup to add a luminosity to face and then, after the look is complete, it can be further layered on at the high points of face. I did the same with this product, and was happy that it worked well when I mixed it with my foundation.
It comes in a tiny glass bottle, with a twist up cap. The cap has a doe-foot applicator which is larger in size than the usual ones we see with lip gloss and liquid lipsticks. There are 7 shades to choose from and they vary from bright silver with pink tint to all out tan bronze. I bought two shades from this range and one of them is being reviewed here.
Apart from adding it to my base makeup, I also applied it to high points of my face once my face was done. I dotted it on the high points of my cheek points, a tiny amount on the bridge of my nose and residual on my fingers goes on my forehead and my chin. It dries quickly so, it has to be quickly blended before it sets.
I do not like when glitter particles of such products spread all over the face and fortunately that did not happen with this product. However, it does make pores appear larger, but since this is true for most of the highlighters, I can make my peace with it. A pore covering primer is useful in such case.
Pros of Wet n Wild MegaGlo Liquid Highlighter Halo, Goodbye:
- Affordable liquid face highlighter.
- Comes in 7 different shades.
- Bottle is made up of glass and does not feel cheap at all.
- Adds luminosity to face when mixed with base makeup.
- Good affordable substitute to more expensive, high end liquid highlighters.
- Glitter particles do not spread on other parts of face.
Cons of Wet n Wild MegaGlo Liquid Highlighter Halo, Goodbye:
- Accentuates face pores and a good pore minimizing primer is required underneath.
- I wish the ingredient list had fewer chemicals (it puts me off when I see a long list of complex sounding chemicals).
- Dries quickly so has to be blended quickly.
IMBB Rating: 4/5
Do I Recommend Wet n Wild MegaGlo Liquid Highlighter Halo, Goodbye?
Bravo to Wet n Wild for coming up with such an affordable and equally good face highlighter. It is perfect for all those who do not want to spend $42 on Cover FX liquid highlighter. Although, it is not a perfect due, it will make do for most of us.
