My take on Wet n Wild Megaslicks Lip Gloss in Sweet Glaze:

When I saw this one at my nearby supermarket, I had no idea how this lip gloss actually was (I had not read about it anywhere). But I was aware that Wet n Wild is known for making some good quality products at really affordable prices. Some of the shades seemed really bright in the tube. So, I chose one of the lightest shades, i.e. Sweet Glaze.

The packaging of this lip gloss is pretty standard. It comes in a transparent tube, making it easy to see the exact shade. The wand has a doe foot applicator (something that I really adore). However, the amount of gloss it picks up is quite less. I have to dip it in the tube often until I finally get the perfect amount of gloss. But, I don’t mind it, and so I won’t consider this as a con, as it applies the gloss evenly and easily on the lips. The sponge applicator feels really soft on the lips. The only con I find in the packaging is that the tube does get a bit sticky near the rim of the cap. I have never actually noticed the gloss spilling out of the tube. But the fact that at times the tube gets a bit sticky (messy) means that the packaging isn’t exactly spill proof.
The gloss smells a little funny. It is not exactly bad, but it has some chemical kind of mild fragrance. But it doesn’t bother me much and it dissipates after some time. I had assumed that the gloss might have a bit of a runny consistency. But the good thing is that it isn’t runny and has a gel like consistency. In fact, is a bit creamy, slightly thick and very smooth. What I really like about this gloss is that it never feels sticky, greasy and heavy on the lips. I hate it when glosses are sticky, and a little wind causes my hair to stick to my lips!!!It is pretty moisturising as well and stands true to its claim of softening and conditioning the lips. It is not a super shiny loud gloss! It imparts the perfect amount of glossiness to the lips.

Now, let’s talk about the shade. It is nothing more than a clear gloss! By looking at the gloss, I knewthat it won’t be a highly pigmented one. But I did not expect it to be so sheer. In fact, I have another shade ‘Cherry Glaze’ from this range of glosses. It looks bright orangey in the tube. But it appears absolutely clear on my lips. I found out later that there are a few shades from this range that appear absolutely clear on the lips (though they look bright in the tube). I often use this on top of a lipstick, to add that little extra sheen to the lips. The staying power of this gloss is decent. It lasts for about 3 hours or so.

Pros of Wet n Wild Megaslicks Lip Gloss in Sweet Glaze:

• Inexpensive
• Keeps lips soft and moisturised
• Feels light on the lips
• Non-sticky, non-greasy
• Perfect amount of glossiness (not at all loud)
• Easy to apply
• Decent staying power

Cons of Wet n Wild Megaslicks Lip Gloss in Sweet Glaze:

• Can get a bit messy near the rim
• Absolutely no color pay off
• Weird smell
• Unavailability in India
• Since it is absolutely clear, it is not meant for those who have pigmented lips or those
with patchiness / dark spots on the lips

IMBB Rating:3/5

Verdict: It is not a must-have product. It is simply a clear gloss. But the formula is really nice and keeps lips soft for a long time. So, I might pick up a few shades that seem to be more pigmented.
