Winter means new lip balms and I picked up two new ones by Wet n Wild. Today I am going to share my view about Wet n Wild Perfect Pout Gel Lip Balm in the shade Play. Let’s get into the review.

My Experience with Wet n Wild Perfect Pout Gel Lip Balm Play:
Wet n Wild lip balm comes in a nice white paper box with all the details. The actual lip balm comes in a cute black tube with a clear cap that makes identifying the shade easy but the bullet doesn’t go inside fully so there are chances of breakage. Otherwise, it is a nice, good quality packaging.
Now, this range has so many shade options and I picked up two of them. The shade Play is a beautiful pink shade which is great for all skin tones. It looks like a cute bubble pink shade in the tube. And yes, on the lips, it looks exactly like a super cute natural pink shade. Such shades look so pretty on the lips and are perfect for everyday use. Also, this shade is definitely pigmented, hence provides a nice color with just a few swipes. It can hide lip pigmentation as well.
Since it is a gel lip balm it has a smooth, glossy texture that glides easily on the lips. It provides a slippery soft effect. It feels extremely light and comfortable as well. It has a gel-like glossy finish that looks really nice and doesn’t have any shimmer. It also has a mild fragrance that never bothers me. It doesn’t feel patchy and the color doesn’t highlight dry patches.
I have extremely dry lips, so I always prefer to use a rich and hydrating lip balm. So, this lip balm has average quality on that parameter. It provides hydration to the lips and makes them soft and healthy. It instantly cures dryness but it can’t repair them. I mean, if I have some dry patches then this balm can’t soothe them. I can still feel those patches on my lips and my lip don’t feel deeply moisturized. My lips can’t get full nourishment with this balm.
Also, the hydrating power doesn’t last long and I need to reapply it. It can’t survive any food. Even other lip balms cannot survive a meal but at least they leave the lip soft. This lip balm, however, isn’t able to provide long-lasting softness. Also, the gloss starts to fade after 2-3 hours. Hence, the color doesn’t settle into the fine lines and it doesn’t crease either, but due to its super glossy texture, the lip line always looks a bit messy.
Overall, it is an average lip balm according to its quality but a good one as it provides a pretty glossy color. It actually plumps up my lips. As the name suggests, it makes lips perfect.
Wish its effects lasted longer, especially in winters. I also feel it’s a bit overpriced, considering Wet n Wild is a budget-friendly brand.

Will I Repurchased/Recommend Wet n Wild Perfect Pout Gel Lip Balm Play?
Not sure about repurchase. This is a good lip balm but isn’t great. I prefer more nourishing lip balms in winters.
